I got the show for free on FITE after ording Bound for Glory. Rematch for the NWA Worlds Heaveyweight Championship will be a 2 out of 3 falls match. They'll also crown a new NWA National Champion. Jazz recently announced she'll defend the NWA Women's Championship at the show. Here are a few videos the NWA has dropped to build the show.

Is Kia Stevens retired and just acting now? Even so, she'd be a good choice for the women's champion. She wouldn't have to work a heavy schedule and she's got a little mainstream recognition factor from GLOW.

Looks like War Kings(formally V.O.W in TNA) and Animal have issued a challenge for the show. War Kings would be s great choice whenever they bring the NWA World Tag Team Championships back.

Maybe if the leather was a lot smaller like in the old days it might not look as ugly but that's a strong contender for ugliest rasslin belt of all-time.
Not too fond of the leather color used for NXT's North American belt but at least the rest of the belt's design looks good. The new NWA National title just looks like a big mess by comparison.

So far the sound is completely screwed up. Could hear Jim Cornette talk about coughing during the intro video and now hear Jim Cornette talking instead of the backstage interviewer...

That was a pretty meh ending to a very good match. Also probably just deflated all the momentum carried from All In for the NWA.

Main event was good. Really didn't see Cody having a long reign but I don't think this rivalry is over though.

Overall NWA 70 was a fun show

One thing I thought was good about this show was the lack of garbage wrestling that still permeates many indy shows (thumbtacks, staple guns, barbed wire, etc).
Was nice to see a show based entirely on wrestling.

I thought Aldis was winning the belt back when I heard him give an interview recently promoting this show and he said that the 10 Pounds of Gold series was something that he was involved in from the start. It really sounds like it is supposed to build around old Brutus Magnus.
I think he's "fine," but it is hard to find him interesting. But while they don't have anyone else special, more power to him. I find Cody boring these days too, to be honest, haha. But I think it was a nice little detour for the strap.

After going through the thread, I really like the vibe that comes across. Shame about the tech issues, but it sounds like a fairly focused show.

Did they even book anyone that specializes in deathmatches or hardcore matches? Could also be a rules thing with the state commission although old TNA shows did have hardcore and bloody matches in that venue.

Aldis was a good choice as a clean slate for Corbin's regime but feel he's a lot better off as a transitional champ than as someone you'd actually build a championship or new promotion around. Same for Cody but he at least brings in way more interest for the NWA than Aldis.
I get the uncertain future surrounding Cody but feel it was a mistake to end Cody's reign this early. Ideally NWA should have ended it in January 2019 if Cody signs with the WWE or at ROH MSG event if he stays in the indies. The latter gives NWA enough time to build their new long term star and direction for the belt.

I wonder how New Japan felt about him winning the belt. Apparently they supported All In, and sure it made a nice moment, but they recently had that arrangement with the NWA that didn't work out that hot for them. With Cody being featured into their plans, at least for the time being, I wonder if there was a bit of a nudge from their management for him to move on from the belt fairly quickly?
