View Full Version : Crown Jewel was a disaster!
Brock has the title now? A year of absentee Champion??
Shane McMahon wins the World Cup? Are the McMahons so self absorbed that they think they can get away with that???? WoW!
This whole thing was a fucking meltdown disaster.
I dont even want to watch anymore. I think i'm done. I love Elias, but, I'm done. I cant follow this crap company anymore. I rather watch bad NFL teams play eachother on Monday Night.

I have. But I held out hope they would put the strap on Braun and not repeat 2017-2018 by putting it on a absentee champ.
They failed so hard.
See you Monday
No. You wont. I wont even be in this forum. I'm about done.

lol dawg, come on man. You're 35-years-old. Watch when you feel like watching and don't when the product sucks. What's with the histrionics? How do the decisions of Vince McMahon bother you so much?

It does sound like the show was a disaster, but caring about it for any other reason than wasting money and time is pretty sad.

I only watched two matches and those were Mysterio/Orton and Miz/Hardy.
I tried watching the other tournament matches as I like tournaments but I really couldn't be arsed if I'm being honest.
I just really didn't care about the PPV at all right from the start and I thought the tournament would manage to gain my interest but it didn't, so I skipped the rest of the matches to their conclusions just to see who won each match.
There were decisions that night that would make you roll your eyes, shake your head, swear, whatever, such as giving the Universal Championship back to Lesnar and the biggest one being Shane winning the tournament, however, I'm sure the reason behind Shane winning wasn't because he was a McMahon or anything stupid like that.
I think he won because either Cena was scheduled to win but because the Saudi's murdered a man and Cena refused to go, it ruined the tournament plans so Vince & Co. just thought, "well, fuck you Saudi's for ruining our plans. You're now getting Shane winning the tournament" or even more likely that Shane won because we're about to get a Shane/Miz feud.
As I said in the SmackDown thread, there's nothing on SmackDown for Miz to do so I thought he would make it to the final and lose and then go to Raw but now with Shane winning, this gives Miz an angle to be a part of.
I'm not going to say that the event was a disaster or anything like that as I really didn't watch it all so I can't judge but from what I did see, it did look pretty bad but what do you expect from a glorified house show in Saudi Arabia that's only taking place because the WWE were paid to do it?
We've got ten years of these events and so far, it looks like it'll just be best to completely ignore them, see the recaps on Raw and SmackDown the next week and continue on as normal.
You won't miss anything noteworthy at these events.

Unless that is that you like to see old retired and semi-retired men try to wrestle like they're in their twenties and failing.
I'm sure that's going to be a regular occurrence at these events.

Rumour is it's a Shane-O Mac Heel turn... but then why would he do that to a heel? Like why no beat Seth Rollins or Kurt Angle like that? Beating Ziggler made it super confusing like he got a "one-up" on him.
It just seemed weirdly executed.

I think it was just a way for them to avoid having to "fire" someone.
When Shane took Miz’ spot I assumed he would lose to set up a deal where he would have to “fire” himself in order to honour the stip. Then he won and it was a total WTF moment?
If it was a heel turn it was badly executed; replaced a heel beat a heel, clean. And who wants another heel authority figure anyway?

Knowing that the Miz didn't actually get hurt and it was the plan all along I am baffled out how retarded this whole thing is. That tournament was the clusterfuck of all clusterfucks. Could have been so much more, instead Shane wins? Fuck, I hate Ziggler but having him walk around World Cup Champion and best in the world would help his cause. Instead he loses to Shane after a 5 minute sloppy match where Shane couldn't even hit the Van Terminator. Fuck was it bad.

Having someone on the active roster win, and thus linking them to the bad press around this show, woukd have been a bad move.

Apparently Shane was penciled in to win all along and your reasoning doesn't speak to how oddly and poorly it was executed. I don't care that Shane won because it was relatively meaningless, but if you want to turn him heel, he should probably screw over a face.

This show and it's results will have little if any bearing on the company going forward, therefore I can't consider it a disaster.
Reigns likely being out for years with an awful undeserved illness is a disaster. To say nothing of the impact it will have on his life, the company got caught with its pants down as they've lost their only real star that they've completely committed to and had zero in the way of a fallback option.

From what I have heard, They will keep on building up Shane as BITW
I thought Miz would lose and go to RAW, but when Dolph was in the finals, that wasnt happening.
They clearly had this Shane bullshit planned for a while. Dolph was the only reasonable guy to take a pin from Shane.
