* SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon opens the show in the ring with SmackDown General Manager Paige. Shane admits he is not the best in the world and says he did everything he did at the WWE World Cup tournament for the brand. Shane announces that The Miz and Daniel Bryan will be the joint Team Captains for the men's Team SmackDown. Bryan was originally announced but Miz interrupted and Shane changed his mind. Shane will also be on the team. Miz actually picked Shane to be on the team but Shane hesitated before agreeing. Shane also confirmed The Bar vs. The Authors of Pain for Survivor Series

1 - The Usos defeated The New Day to become the Team Captains for a Survivor Series tag team match. After the match, The Usos took the mic and praised The New Day. The Usos pick The New Day to be on the tag team battle at Survivor Series

* Backstage segment with Daniel Bryan and The Miz discussing Rey Mysterio for Team SmackDown. Bryan wants him on the team but Miz says he hasn't accomplished anything since returning. If Rey can defeat Cien Almas later tonight, Rey will make the team. They decide that the fifth member of the team will also be decided with a match tonight. Bryan and Miz will pick the participants.

* SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch comes out to a pop and fires back at the RAW promo from RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey. Becky asks Ronda who the hell she thinks she is. Becky says Ronda isn't a champion yet because she hasn't had a real test. Becky says she is The Man and she doesn't care if Rousey is the baddest b---h on the planet because Becky will make Rousey her b---h at Survivor Series. Becky doesn't care about getting Ronda's respect in the match, only her arm. Becky issues an open challenge and the SAnitY music hits. Eric Young, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe come out. WWE NXT Superstar Nikki Cross is with them to a huge pop. They trade words on the mic and we have a match

2 - SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch defeated Nikki Cross.

* Backstage segment with Daniel Bryan and The Miz. Bryan picks Jeff Hardy for the match for the final spot while Miz picks Samoa Joe.

3 - Rey Mysterio defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas to earn a Team SmackDown spot. Rey won with the 619. After the match, Randy Orton rushed the ring from the crowd and laid Rey out with a RKO outta nowhere.

* SmackDown General Manager Paige comes to the ring to introduce the women's Team SmackDown for Survivor Series. Carmella is out first. R-Truth accompanies her to the ring. Naomi is out next, followed by Sonya Deville, Asuka and then Charlotte Flair. Flair is set to come out but her music just plays. Mandy Rose comes out instead. Paige says Rose will not be replacing Flair. Rose wants to know why she wasn't chosen over Deville. Rose disses the other participants and a big brawl breaks out. Rose retreats

4 - Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Hardy to earn the final spot on Team SmackDown. The Miz and Daniel Bryan watched the match from ringside. After the match, Joe taunts Bryan and they start brawling. Bryan applies the Yes Lock but Miz breaks it up. Miz and Bryan go at it now until Shane McMahon makes the save. Bryan accidentally slams Shane. SmackDown goes off the air with Shane, Joe, Bryan and Miz staring each other down.

Hi. I watched this show, but started 30 minutes late, so I wasn't here discussing in this highly active thread.

Anyways, this was a great show.

This 5 on 5 tag team survivor series match..... are there even 5 teams each on SD/RAW?

SD:
Usos
New Day
Sanity
Primo and Epico?
???

RAW:
B-Team
Roode & Gable
Ascension
Revival
???

Lock Jaw
11-06-2018, 10:04 PM
Oh yeah, Gallows/Anderson on SD. So maybe they have 5 if Primo and Epico are actually still around and not injured.

Lock Jaw
11-06-2018, 10:05 PM
Oh, I guess maybe Lucha House Party was randomly on RAW to give them one more team

I have zero interest in the tag team elimination match. I am assuming that is gonna be on the preshow with a cruiserweight match.

With SmackDown! having now aired, some congratulations are in order for one AJ Styles, who will see the 365th day, the 1 calendar year mark, of his WWE Championship reign occur tomorrow(Nov. 7, 2018).

That now means a club that has had only 7 men in it will become 8.

For the record, the numbers below for all the 1+ year title reigns.

1. Bruno Sammartino(twice)-May 17, 1963-Jan. 18, 1971(Reign 1) & Dec. 10, 1973-Apr. 30, 1977(Reign 2)

2. Pedro Morales-Feb. 8, 1971-Dec. 1, 1973

3. Bob Backlund(Reign 1)-Feb. 20, 1978-Dec. 26, 1983(to WWE)/Dec. 17, 1979-Dec. 26, 1983(actual)

4. Hulk Hogan(Reign 1)-Jan. 23, 1984-Feb. 5, 1988

5. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage(Reign 1)-Mar. 27, 1988-Apr. 2, 1989

6. John Cena(Reign 3)-Sept. 17, 2006-Oct. 2, 2007

7. CM Punk(Reign 2)-Nov. 20, 2011-Jan. 27, 2013

8. AJ Styles(Reign 2)-Nov. 7, 2017-present(as of Nov. 7, 2018)

To me, for a guy who was with Impact Wrestling(as TNA) 5 years ago, AJ has come a really long way to now, and to me, has more than earned this place in history for himself. To be forever called an ELITE WWE Champion, according to the terms of being champ for 365/366 days, and to keep himself performing at this high level, is something that I'm happy for him to have gotten here.

Congrats again to AJ.

I recorded SmackDown overnight but Sky decided to show a different programme for the first hour instead of SmackDown, so a program called "Sporting Legends" or something to that effect got recorded instead and then half of SmackDown.

So I only saw the first hour of SmackDown up to the beginning of the Mysterio/Almas match but I do now know more about Diego Maradona and some basketball player from the 70's.

I hate the brand vs. brand stuff. I mean, it is cute with Ronda and Becky and Brock and AJ, but the stupid fake drama and the heels teaming up with babyfaces loses me.

Cool King

I'm really not that much of a fan of it myself.

The whole "brand vs brand" thing just seems really forced as it's never spoken about from December to October but as soon as November hits, suddenly everyone from Raw and SmackDown is incredibly proud to be a member of that brand and they hate the other brand with a passion.

Then, like you said Noid, we have faces and heels teaming up because of it and pretty much acting like the past year has meant nothing when it comes to their rivalries and that they've all been friends forever.

It just doesn't make much sense and it's not really interesting at all.

If this "brand vs brand" thing was a constant throughout the year like it used to be when Bischoff and Stephanie were GM's, then Survivor Series would all make sense to a degree and even more so if one brand took the role of the face brand and the other, the heel brand.

Right now, it's all kinda muddy as you've got Corbin as the heel in charge of Raw and Paige as the face in charge of SmackDown but that's as close as you get to having the "face vs heel" aspect leading up to and at Survivor Series, as throughout both shows the rosters cut promos on the other roster as if they are the face roster and the other roster are the heel roster, so you're kinda left wondering "who's the bad guys and who's the good guys?".

The brand vs brand stuff is like the NBA All-Star game.
