A big loss for IMPACT Wrestling today as both Sonjay Dutt and Abyss have left the company according to a report from PWInsider. Both men are expected to sign with WWE.

Abyss is best known as a hardcore performer in the company, and was the longest tenured wrestler there, but was also working as an agent. He had been with IMPACT Wrestling, through its various forms, since 2002. Dutt also wrestled but had been a key part of the company’s creative side recently. He’ll be replaced by Konnan and Tommy Dreamer.

The departures were said to be amicable.

Impact Wrestling loses it's final original talent.

Can Sonjay Dutt pass WWE's drug testing?

Is Abyss really going to be Kane 2.0?

I mean he’s 45. Can’t imagine he has much left in the tank.

abyss should be an agent for nxt, he has a sports med degree from ohio. abyss would be a good surprise for the rumble.

Is there a no compete clause in his impact contract? Do impact contracts even have those?

They've been producers and part of creative for Impact mostly. Not sure if that's what they'd end up doing in WWE but I really don't see a use for the Abyss character in WWE. Sonjay could probably fit in on 205 Live.

Unless WWE is that worried about AEW or ROH getting Abyss, don't really see the value in signing him unless its as an agent. Even then, Dutt is still the better choice considering he was pretty reliable in management for Impact.

they were both management, they might not have had contracts, with them leaving looks like impact is folding pursuit killed tna.

They're not folding, they replaced them with Konnan and Dreamer. I'd say it's most likely them wanting to get a run in WWE before they retire and become full time agents or trainers.

Abyss is gonna be a backstage hand in NXT probably. Can’t see any reason for them to use him as an on-screen performer.

too bad this wasn't 10-15 years ago. Abyss had value then and i think most WWE fans would of been excited to see him. Now i doubt anyone barely knows who he is

Member that time TNA "invaded" WWE and Abyss carried balloons

I may be in the minority but i'm all for Abyss getting a big run in WWE.

The obvious first feud would be against Kane.

WWE logic would put Abyss with Bray in a team that goes nowhere, they break up and go nowhere again.

That match in 2019 would be a train wreck.

You really want to see a Kane storyline in 2019?

I would like to see the chris park lawyer or what ever name vince gives him, to pop the people who know who he is, an let him be a heel maneger.

Barely anyone would know who he is and even less would care.

Although I do suspect they might use him for when the Saudis ask for Mankind at one of their shows.

MAYBE Joseph Park as a manager, buy I have zero interest in the Abyss character today.
