Brian Steinberg of Variety reported on Thursday that Nickelodeon has tabbed Cena to host new episodes of the popular game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

CM Phil was gonna host a game show, but it wasn't ever going to get to be on the last primetime slot, so he quit.

Good for John. It’s a show I’ve heard of. He might be able to ingrain himself into people’s lives a bit, but I dunno how “huge” it is. Feels like a bit of a detour from his Hollywood path. Seems like a thing comedians kind of take over. Maybe it’a a strategic move?

It being on Nick is the reason they tabbed Cena, who is universally loved by their core age demographic. It's a great move all around for both Nickelodeon and Cena.
