With word that Taker has re-signed a long-term deal to continue wrestling periodically for WWE for years to come, who should be Undertaker's final opponent? Guessing we have to look at the youngsters of today who will eventually ascend to main-event/upper-mid card

Baron Corbin because WWE still has plenty of attempts left in the tank to make him into a top tier star.

Ideally, he should have retired either after the Streak was broken or after the Reigns match but WWE and himself were too stubborn to do so.

Who cares at this point?

Absolutely no benefit to this now surely? Am sure fans will still pay to see the entrance and all of that, but when the lights come on, he looks so old and tired.

Lesnar match should have been that done and dusted and Reigns match was pretty sad, but should have probably been the” a little late but thats it over guys” point

Can’t see any benefit for anyone beating him anymore.

With that being said, Joey Ryan via Penis Flip ar WrestleMania 40

Realistically, it will be something like this.

Although, they'll probably have at least another three or four "one more matches" before the real last one.

Baron Corbin for laughs just so they can call him the new legend killer or something

In reality I don't know who I would have given that rub. I've always thought it should have been given to Bray a few years ago during the height of the Wyatt Family run. Made the most sense to me considering Bray would be the new era creepy guy.

Out of the people you listed though? Corbin is the only real choice out of those imo and that blows. Not sure why you listed a bunch of smaller strikers/flippy boys when we're talking about nearly 7ft tall Taker with bad knees that none of those other guys would be able to slam him and he wouldn't be able to work their higher flying style at ALL at this point. Corbin is basically the only choice there that could pull some semblance of a believable match out of Mean Mark at this point.

Also lol @ randomly throwing Sonny Kiss in there. Thought he was going to AEW anyways?

Honestly I have no idea... I feel like all the guys he is connected to are finished up. If they want to go with Taker and Kane for some tag spots to elevate that division I'd be really cool with that.

I could also see him getting squashed by Lars at some point, maybe "at the end".

I can see his last match being something completely random, like a throwaway with Elias, and he just falls apart and can't do it anymore and that's that.

If the company could be trusted with better writing and a sustained push, that actually wouldn't be a bad thing. For Elias, I mean, not neccessarily Taker's legacy if he's so broken down he can no longer go. But, making that an angle and making Elias the guy to finally take out the Deadman would do a lot more than perpetual "I'm going to put on a show, and nobody had better inturrupt me-" thing he has been doing for years now that has been happening in lieu of actual storytelling.

But, again, that would weigh heavily on WWE not squandering such a big victory on someone who should figure into being their future, but then they forget he exists four months later and he's jobbing to the next NXT callup and the entire 205 roster for zero reason.

Ideally his last match he loses, he then stands up and disappears into dust like the end of Infinity war. Said dust is then swept up and stuck into an Urn, then it gets chucked into the wwe archives for eternity. The end.
