Anthony Mackie
Andrew Scott
Miley Cyrus
Topher Grace

Aside from Miley Cyrus whom I have never seen act, that is a strong cast yet again.

Topher Grace is my shit

Love Black Mirror! That trailer does nothing for me though, seeing as how most episodes are random as fuck and you have no idea what to expect. Can't wait for it, though!

The reviews aren't that good but I'm going to watch it anyway.

The Miley Cyrus episode was bad.

Miley Cyrus ruining NIN

Just watched the Falcon/Black Manta episode:

Not my favourite of the series..... I like episodes that make me "contemplate the future" and "technology's impact on our lives"...... This one was more about "relationships" and "no homo" as Kalyx said.... Wasn't bad, but not really what I want out of Black Mirror

Whoa... just looked up the actors who played the fighters.... was Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Murk from Aquaman

Honestly none of the episodes had that technophobe vibe the series is known for by now. Mostly character driven this season.

@Kalyx

If you could VR bang Chun-Li, but she was controlled by one of your best friends, would you?

Frank Drebin

Fuck no.

Frank Drebin

Unless my best friend was Anna Kendrick. Then it would totes be ok.

Lock Jaw, let's VR fuck but I'll raise my voice so I sound like Elizabeth Holmes.

I wouldn't VR bang. That's not some hyper chad stance, I just don't like VR. But as far as the concept you're asking - no.

I was disappointed they never swapped characters. Home boy wanted to know what it was like to get drilled by ninja dick but never cashed in.

The fact that this device was able to simulate another gender's unique physical sensations is a wild idea I'd think the episode would explore a bit more. I'm glad they spoke about it at least because my brain was on fire about it, but was it was mostly handwaved with comedic fumbling (writer likely had no clue how to explain it himself).

Mantis was ridiculously hot.

Honestly none of the episodes had that technophobe vibe the series is known for by now. Mostly character driven this season.

The technology is always secondary to the characters in Black Mirror.
Your phone is only a black mirror when it's off or on standby, the technology is merely a surface onto which the character is reflected.

Kalyx triaD

Sure but this season had way less direct consequences of technology. Smithereens and Sex Fighter could have easily been told without the tech additions, the former is more or less present day. Not a bad thing, since the series started with this vibe.

The latest seasons of both Black Mirror and Arrested Development have been unsatisfactory.

5th season was fine. Not great. Even forgettable. None of those make my top 5 or even top 10 fav episodes.

Smithereen probably the best of the bunch. I liked the slight mystery behind why he was doing it and it being more or less the core reason of calling something like this "Black Mirror".

You can see my sisters house in the episode 'Smithereens'.

Just watched the episode "Smithereens". Don't really have much to say of it....

I really like 502. Thought all 3 eps were bold gambles for the show. Branching away from thriller/horror and trying its hand at diversifying its methods for telling stories. 2 8s and a 9.

rez

Smithereens was pretty forgettable except for Topher Grace. They need to do an ep focused on his character.

I think my overall favourite episode is USS Callister. It was horrifying. The best way to watch it is to chase it with a shot of Bryce Dallas Howard's episode. You need that feel good if you're taking on Callister.

San Junipero

Seanny One Ball

If it wasn't for season 4 that would be the overall worst episode. It's still bottom three.

Lock Jaw

San Junipero more "feel good" than Nosedive........ Nosedive has very "feel good" ending, but is v bleak for much of it.....

Frank Drebin
06-14-2019, 06:55 PM
Nosedive my fav maybe. San Junipero easily the most overrated.

Frank Drebin
06-14-2019, 06:56 PM
Bandersnatch was really good in hindsight. Not a fan of the gimmicky choose your own adventure movie but the actual content and the context of it was really well done.

Frank Drebin

Want to rank my top 5 but I feel like one of them will be on Seanny's worst list and I'll lose all credibility with him 4 ever.

Watched all three episodes today. Probably the weakest season so far, but still not bad. I found the episodes were all a little too long to be honest. I think I liked 'Smithereens' the best though. Andrew Scott's performance was great and compelling. Plus my sister's house appears in the episode which is super awesome! :D

Watching 1st episode now. Dude goes on the dance floor with the chick and takes his nice jacket off and apparently just drops it on the floor, i dunno. What the fuck did he do with his jacket???? /black mirrored

This 1st episode is very ambitious. I liked it. I gotta be honest.. It's what i imagine Seanny One Ball and Frank Drebin doing after a hard days work.

RP
06-16-2019, 08:04 PM
I feel like this first episode is based on Seanny One Ball and Frank Drebin's relationship. I think they text each other at night and apologize for the gay acts they perform on and during TPWW interaction.

RP
06-16-2019, 08:06 PM
They go back to there families and question why there penis's made boners. Then they hide themselves in the bathroom and try to sword virtual boners with eachother, only to end up in a gay fuckfest where they rip there clothes off and screw against a light poll virtually.

RP
06-16-2019, 08:07 PM
Both of them leave there real life black wives... and they go rub there bones together and in there asses.

RP
06-16-2019, 08:09 PM
I'm positive Seanny One Ball and Frank Drebin are fucking hardcore virtually.

Episode 1 of Black Mirror S5 is actually pretty good.

1st EP was ok. I get it. It was kinda about being gay, but whatever. It was what Black Mirror does. It wasnt anything special. It almost felt like a SJW statement of some sort.

Seanny One Ball
06-17-2019, 04:51 PM
There's nothing virtual about it.

Kalyx triaD
06-18-2019, 01:39 AM
There was no SJW statement in Fighting Vipers. Progressive critics aren't even sure how to sell it since it's truly a mindfuck of sorts (/s). When San Junipero came out it was wall to wall praise as the LGBT Story Telling Champion of the year, but Fighting Vipers has merely a few 'analysis' write-ups and attempted hot takes. They don't know what to make of it because of the critical detail that the virtual element is presenting a straight relationship that was unambiguously rejected in real life by the men.

It's very interesting but hardly taken by storm on the SJW end. My fave episode, btw.
