...I feel like someone should win the 24/7 Title, then grab a referee as they leave. Next week, they come out, completely cocky with the belt on their shoulder, declaring that he, as the man in possession of the 24/7 Title, he can promise that no one will defeat the champion. They do the Yakity Sax segment. Someone pins him, but the fall for some reason doesn't count. This goes on for a few weeks. Until they run into someone who is actually worth a fuck, say Braun. They attempt a belt shot, only to get blasted. The champ powders out and tries to grab the belt from the floor. Braun stands on the belt, and the ref counts to three, making Braun the new 24/7 champion.

Come to find out, the guy has the referee count him getting pinned by the belt itself, a la the Ironman Heavymetalweight Title in DDT. Hence why he never refers to himself as the 24/7 Champion, only as being in possession of the Title itself.

And yes, I know this is a stupid idea.

It took a couple days...

Basically this was a Noidpost. If Noid smoked crack.

Related, it's also a better angle than anything WWE will do with that damned belt.

Go to your room and think about what you've done here

One idea that I think would be cool is if they had the "24/7 Cam" where there's a constant broadcast of whoever the champion is at all times on their YouTube channel, and you have wrestlers attack the champion at times that you aren't told about ahead of time, it's just something that they do during the day like eating or sleeping.

Now this is a good idea.

Another cool idea would maybe be to throw the title in the trash and carry on as if it never happened.

Sounds like when Head became the Hardcore champion, except instead, the title wins itself.

That said, I agree with Vast.

On the 24/7 title itself: there were two things I liked about the original Hardcore championship until both inevitably got run into the ground.

First, the evolution of it from being a joke gimmick in a long forgotten Mick Foley angle, to actually becoming defended as a legit title... for me most notably when Road Dogg was champ and defended it for a few weeks on RAW. It was neat that it became legitimized *and* there were no rules except for the pinfall/submission. Unfortunately, that slowly came to mean "I'm going to come down to the ring with a trashcan and/or shopping cart full of bullshit to hit the other person with... half of which won't even be of use; just there as a visual aid." They took the one aspect of ECW that WWE heavily criticized and turned it to 11. The thing that was supposed to make it exciting became rote and boring.

Second, the 24/7 rule starting as a moment of braggadocio that came to bite Crash Holly in the ass, but ending up being overly ridiculous scrums for the sake of backstage comedy. It got stale when it ventured outside the realm of being a self-imposed decree and became an actual rule. And now, this 24/7 belt is exactly the same thing with the added nonsense of having zero context. It's just an excuse to get a bunch of random people on TV who aren't getting TV time... WHICH IS WHAT THE FUCK THE BRAND SPLITS WERE SUPPOSED TO ACCOMPLISH!!! Nobody needs to see the World/Universal champion every week, let alone 8 times a show. If they took time to showcase some of the lower card, they wouldn't remain lower card forever. Much like the Cruiserweight division, this belt is already the "This Is All You Are Championship v2.0: Comedy Act Edition". It's an excuse for stuff to just happen with zero substance.

That gag only works if the punchline is done right away and not weeks later. Plus Foley ruined that idea when he listed who could actually win the belt. Then again Foley also did a terrible job with his promo that I think its still not known if WWE's women wrestlers can actually win the belt.

They'll prob'ly answer that by having Carmella beat Truth in an act of either calculated betrayal or total accident.

People are talking about their own ideas instead of verbally punishing Vastardikai for this thread.

Let's not get off track.

You're doing great. It's all these other armchair bookers that need to stay on topic.

Maybe they need us to take the initiative. I can do that.

This thread is worse than a Joey Janella match.

Okay, guys, your turn.

Well, when the shitposting is far superior than the actual televised product, it's hard to shoot the messenger.

Actually this sounds like something they would do.

That alone should cause Vastardikai to feel tremendous shame.
