She was the champ for like 200 days, and the main player both before and after her reign, She won the title in a fatal 4 way over Charlotte, Becky, and Bayley. Then beat Charlotte, Becky, and everybody else.

While Charlotte was the champ, Sasha was her main competitor with the story being about Sasha chasing and will she finally win it, not about Charlotte.

She used and double crossed people, including Becky, in pursuit of the title, so her character was the one with the depth and multiple storylines going at once.

She was called up as the champ on her own, remember Becky and Charlotte were together with Paige. She main evented a PPV way before Charlotte.

Charlotte as champ, just kind of felt forced, like hey Paige is gone, we need a champ, pick Flair's daughter.

I am not trying to discredit 2014 Charlotte, but Sasha was the one that the division was running through.

Also, Ember was positioned there, not for long before getting called up, but I think the plans were there for her to be the next one. Then she got pulled up and that was it. Not saying she would have been, but they were starting down that path.
