I was talking to some guy on Gunbound and he was using a Mac.

Talking about hacking the game and getting the mac client off a hybrid CD.

I dunno wtf he was saying but it should give you hope.

cause i did several yahoo searches for anything related to a mac version of the game and came up with nothing, so i was skeptical about the possibility of my ever running the game.

I d/l W3D a while back, so I got the Euro version. Not as good as WWP IMO.

Worms World Party - it was the last 2D worms game released.

If I'm correct (and I'm usually not), the series was:
Worms
Worms United (I forget what it was united with, but it was the first one I owned)
Worms 2
Worms Armegeddeon
Worms World Party
Worms 3D

That is, of course, missing out Worms Pinball.

I first picked up the series at WWP, although I had played a Worms ROM a long time before. Fron what I've seen Armegeddeon isn't much different than WWP, just with less weapons I believe. But I definitely like the 2D feel better. I must say they took the right leap in 3D, but its still very hard to keep track of where all the worms are and sometimes it's really hard to do what you have to do in your alotted time limit. With a 2D screen you have to worry about one dimension, and that makes it alot more simple. I've seen people pick up WWP and learn it in 5 minutes, while I'm sure W3D takes a little bit more practice and skill.

Yeah that's the main reason I didn't get into Worms 3D, but I'm gonna try again soon. I played it, and I kinda enjoyed it, but something was missing, and it was 2D.
Hopefully with the sequel, it'll be better.

WWP had more weapons, levels, single player missions, and a whole load of other options, compared to Armegeddeon.
Plus it was designed more towards online play, Armegeddeon was a total ass to get online, whereas WWP was so easy it was worrying.

i'm a sucker for eyecandy, so i find the graphics in worms3d very sexy. i've never played worms or and game like it, so i love it (no expectations to overcome). it only took me about an hour to learn it (the tutorial and gunrange modes are very helpful).
