Meltzer reporting that FOX has offered him a job on the WWE Backstage Stdio show, where he'd co-host with Renee Young.

Punk confirmed his interview and interest in the role during a podcast yesterday, it was appealing to him as it's similar to studio broadcast work he's done for MMA. He did, however, reiterate that he wasn't interested in wrestling again.

Still, while he'd be a FOX employee and not a WWE one, he's still going to be making sort of a return to the company. 2019 has been quite the wild year for the business.

Except for he isn't coming back to the company, he is working for FOX. Like how Santino Marella works for Rogers doing a studio Smackdown pre-show thing... he doesn't work for WWE.

Yes and no. Working the Fox show is a whole different animal than what Santino does.

Punk will be having weekly interactions with WWE, so while not working for them, he is directly working with them.

It's the old "hop skip and a throw" or whatever the saying is, from making an actual return to WWE.
