I switched back and forth again this week, but there isn't really any debate this week, AEW has put on a better show tonight.

They definitely fixed the pacing issue from the first half of last week, which was the major weakness, and now some characters are getting more established. Great momentum for coming weeks if they can keep it up.

Jesus. Just watched the Jericho promo from tonight for the 3rd time. It's phenomenal. Best promo (and at worst top 3) in the last 10+ years. Unscripted, (most likely, I assume) and again better than anything I can think of from WWE in the last decade or more. Put others over, without actually shitting on anyone else, while still getting himself over, told/progressed a story, answered some questions, left some intrigue/questions, and promoted a future match/PPV. It's actually a great lesson in how to cut a promo.

She seems more likely to join WWE if she ends up signing with a major promotion based on the way she's been leaning since the 2nd Mae Young Classic tournament. Wouldn't be surprised if she were to become a PC coach or have her promotion be affiliated with WWE once NXT Japan happens.

With WWE signing Shotzi Blackheart very recently, that's another notable indie name they snagged away from any potential competitor. Also making NXT even more bloated now.

Finally caught the first half of Jericho's promo and it was stellar. And I stand by what I said, especially after Jericho put him over. Guevara is going to be the biggest beneficiary of the Inner Circle.

Still not buying "Hangman" Page as a supposed big singles star.... but seeing him in the tag match, I think he'd be ideally suited as a tag team star! Give him a cowboy buddy, or heck, just team him up with Dustin on a permanent basis.

It was a great promo but it is being overhyped a bit. I think people who are currently rightfully pissed at WWE are excited that he called out the fed and took shots at their creative. Making it seem like it was better than it was.

Also was pleasantly surprised by Private Party going over. Assuages any fear I had of the Bucks overbooking themselves out the gate.

He def needs a partner. Too bad James Storm and Trevor Murdoch are both under contract with NWA, they'd both be fine in the roll. Maybe Charlie Haas? I dunno.

Turner and AEW officials were worried over the possibility of the Cards-Braves game going longer than scheduled on TBS which would have meant the rest of that game gets shifted over to TNT in order for TBS to air the start of the Nats-Dodgers game.

If it happened, AEW would have shifted over to TruTV a little after 8:30 and stay there for the rest of the show. Turner officials then decided to just simulcast the entire show on both networks despite the game ending early and no longer needing TruTV as an emergency.

So far I have enjoyed AEW more than WWE the last two weeks, it feels fresh and easy to watch.

Having watched since their first ppv too they keep making adjustments to make it smoother too. Big fan of the time limits idea and commentary and how they are elevating new stars with their established stars.

I’ve watched the first two episodes of AEW and it’s been really good. Seems refreshing or something. I don’t know, maybe I’d think the same if I watched some WWE now as well but whenever I read about WWE it just sounds horrible so I doubt it.

One thing though, that little Latino guy in Jericho’s stable seems unbearable. He looked like one of the hyenas from The Lion King the way he was sticking his tongue out and chewing on it.
