I genuinely feel that Seth Rollins has no backbone (Rollins on Graves' podcast)

The way his character has been portrayed for a while, it seems like they're serving him steaming piles of shit and he gladly eats it up because he's happy to be there. Don't get me wrong, financial security is important but even Dean Ambrose / Jon Moxley walked away when he realized he was stuck in a rut and not growing as a performer. I also have a theory that Rollins isn't just the teacher's pet or "the company man", he's just not that bright. While he's main-eventing PPVs and major shows, his partner is clearly the superior performer and champion. Last night's Firefly segment killed any and all hope I had in him. Fuck him!

I think it has more to do with nobody in WWE knowing how to portray a main event face other than as a hard worker with a good attitude and a catchphrase.

Rollins is just the latest example, but every single time they push anyone remotely interesting up the card as a face, they become the exact same character.

Also, while folks like to reminisce his heel turn (J&J Security and The Authority), I don't remember him giving any stellar performances on the mic. He'd often flub, his opening segment promos would go on forever, and not to mention the over the top reactions.

I'd say Becky Lynch and the recent iteration of Charlotte Flair. Styles was a pushed act for a while, and while he had some terrible lines during his feud with Samoa Joe, he was overwhelmingly better than Rollins.

Yeah you're right. At most you might get a disgruntled employee or someone higher up lashing out because of a certain instance but then get quickly punished or fired for it. WWE is pretty much on another level when it comes to being petty over fan reactions.
