Not sure if its just Tony and JR speaking softer than usual but the crowd mic does sound a lot loud by comparison.

Think it was Cody who mentioned it recently about them favoring crowd sounds over music and commentary for tv. Also why they kept the crowd mics on during the Jericho parody since they wanted to include the genuine reactions from the crowd during it.

Let me check the book ...

Gave Shida vs. Baker a 3.5 overall. Shida was very good and feel Baker is slowly getting better and more comfortable in the ring than she was early on. Also helped that the crowd wasn't burnt out from the great Fenix vs. Nick Jackson match that started the show.

Luchasaurus vs The Librarian got the worst score of the night due to it just being a quick squash match. Guess in terms of squash standards, a 1 would be average so the match was at least good for its use.

I loved the Nick/Fenix match and the Darby/Mox match... The Jericho segment with SCU was good at points but I feel like they missed some material, the joke didn't really work. Plus Daniels and Kazarian need to stay away from the mic.

The seeming botch from Santana or the ref in the tag match was total crap. He should've just counted to 3.

I agree with you. I think from a high level perspective, this show lacked the glue and flow of the other episodes. There was no huge overarching story or hook to make things work. The few weeks before Full Gear, you had Cody/Jericho and a general Elite/Inner Circle feud that was interwoven throughout the show. Last week still had a bit of that with the fallout to MJF's turn and Cody's stip, which flowed naturally into Jericho+Sammy's Tag Title Shot.

This week everything felt separate and mostly isolated. Yeah, there was some connection like with Nick stealing the slapjack from PnP and Jurassic Express running in at the end of the Inner Circle segment, but it doesn't feel like there was one major plot pushing things along from segment to segment.

All the individual parts were mostly good, so it was still a "good" show, but I think the major differentiator for AEW has been the fact that it feels like a living/breathing show and a "real" place where people interact. This week was a lot more like a standard WWE show where it felt to an extent like 8 different producers/writers produced 8 separate segments and no one really talked.

The matches were pretty damn good. Yes, much less story but if an episode is going to "regress" by being wrestling-centric I think that's a nice trade off for a week. I remember a time where everyone complained about short TV matches and bitched that actual wrestling didn't matter anymore so I appreciate it.

I don't mind them not burning through story and letting things go on longer. One of the issues with WWE is how they're forced to do that to fill all the TV time. Also, the matches all having actual outcomes without any dusty finishes is refreshing.

When I say it was the worst Dynamite yet, still better than any Raw I can remember. Sure Raw has tons of amazing moments, but I have literally never said, "WOW THAT WAS AN AMAZING EPISODE OF RAW".

Also, The Dark Order video was awesome. I have totally turned it around in regard to AEW's most misunderstood tag team. The Dark Order can obviously WORK, and they don't have to pull of Cirque De Sole dives to do it and I really value that. I can't wait to hear more from Uno, Grayson is a REALLY good worker... and now I'm wondering if the actor they used in the promo last night is going to become a character ringside with the team. We shall see!

If you actually think that AEW isn't the best two hours of wrestling TV on every week, you should probably just stop watching wrestling. Again, AEW is not perfect (not by a long shot), but it's easily many times better than anything WWE puts out, simply based on the fact that (unlike WWE TV, and yes, that includes NXT) the actual things that happen on AEW TV (so far) matter and have a purpose.
