Outside of the audio issues that were really bad during the earlier portion of the show, this week's episode was a lot more enjoyable than last week.

Brandi's new cult is hit-or-miss but AEW finally listening to the complaints about their Women's division and putting in some real effort this week really helped make the show better.

Also AEW and NXT have done a way better job making 2 hour shows be very entertaining and fly by well than WWE has done in recent times with Smackdown.

Vince is ultimately going to continue to turn everything to shit or at least make things make little to no sense and/or not matter. This includes anyone who does something "amazing" in NXT. There has not been an NXT callup that has mattered in at least 2 years. I don't feel like researching too much, but Bobby Roode feels like the last callup that still felt like he might have a real chance.

Of course they killed him quite quickly, and it really felt like the last straw where you knew any callup wasn't going to be used in any meaningful way.

It is necessary to enjoy NXT in a bubble. Enjoy what Keith Lee is doing now, and when Vince wants him on the main roster as a boring heel powerhouse, at least it will open a spot for the next guy to have a great run in that bubble.

It does suck for longevity purposes, but I'd rather a guy have a great run for a year than not at all.

On the men's side, probably have to go back to Seth Rollins to find someone who actually mattered as a call-up and wasn't squandered. Maybe Baron Corbin but his main roster run has been pretty terrible considering his high spot status. Elias, Reigns, Ambrose, and Strowman didn't really do much in NXT compared to their main roster time.

On the women's side, Alexa Bliss is probably the most recent in terms of a call-up that really mattered. Maybe Lacey Evans but her debut push was such a dud she got demoted to Main Event afterwards.

At some point, call-ups have to resume at its normal pace or else the log jam in NXT and the Performance Center is going to get even worse than it is now. Even NXT UK is limited on how much talent they can absorb from NXT due to not having a PC for themselves and WWE not stopping their signings for the brand.

This is one of those things that absolutely has to be on the actual show. With only two hours (minus commercials), it's understandable and smart to have some character development/angles on social media and YouTube, but something this important to the main angle--since there's not much going on with the title at this point--has to be on the actual show. This isn't just a "MJF is a dick" throwaway segment. This is a major storyline development.

I still feel like last night--while a stronger show than the last week or two--was missing that extra oomph that the several shows leading into Full Gear had. Those shows had the overarching thread of Cody/Elite/Jericho/Inner Circle and felt like anything could happen at any point and everything was urgent and mattered.

They feel a bit like they're in that same kind of lull we get in the summer with WWE where things are just kind of moving along. There are feuds and angles, but they mostly feel just kind of there to me. Full Gear paid off a ton of hot feuds--Cody/Jericho, Mox/Omega, etc--and it doesn't feel like they've replaced those yet. Might be because of the upcoming holiday break, but it's been noticeable to me.

I think last night's show would have been improved significantly by having the Butcher/Blade/Bunny video early on in the show, have Cody's promo respond to them along with calling out MJF, and then show the MJF video a couple of segments later to reveal it's not just two separate wars.

yeah I watched it today it reminded me of watching the twitch impact shows with indy companys, it always takes 2 or 3 matches to get the audio right.
