This Theory vs. Strong match has been mostly average soo far and one of the weakest opening matches since NXT moved to USA Network.

Nothing really wrong with the match itself. Its just mostly dragging along and too many rest hold spots.

Last couple minutes of the match was very good though.

Isiah Scott's previous theme was a lot better than his new one.

Also going from Full Sail to Barclay's Center for these taped matches really shows how "minor league" or indies Full Sail comes off on tv in terms of crowd visuals.

Scott vs. Gallagher match was decent at best.

Makes sense this week would be a downer compared to last week's banger with its two very hyped matches and the Christmas holiday but this show has felt very throw-away and not taking advantage of no AEW this week.

Arturo Ruas hype vignette was pretty good overall.

Bronson Reed's entrance looks pretty great with the Smackdown set.

Also every match tonight almost followed the same routine with a head lock or rest hold happening within moments the bell rang. Ever since TJP mentioned it in an interview a while ago, its one of those things that sticks out a lot more than before whenever I'm watching WWE stuff.

Reed vs. Dijakovic was a pretty good hoss and big man style fight overall.

Nothing really flashy but Dijakovic's big man style and Reed's hoss style meshed well.

Shotzi vs. Bianca match was decent overall.

Outside of maybe Strong vs. Theory, nothing from tonight's show has really been must-watch and same for the show itself but still has been better than the typical Smackdown in terms of WWE's 2 hour shows.

Damian Priest's entrance is way cooler looking with the Smackdown set than NXT's generic set. Nice of Keith Lee to bring cookies for his pal Lio Rush to eat.

Priest & Nese vs. Rush & Lee match was pretty good overall.

Tonight's show was good and likely what a typical NXT episode would be without AEW around to motivate them except with more promos and non-ring stuff sprinkled in.
