I don't know if I'd call it tragic. He was 75 years old.

75 isn’t that old by today’s standards, really.

RIP Rocky

RIP.

An underrated name in the sport imo. Obviously, The Rock overshadowed his career, which is kinda shame as not a lot of people really remember or know about Rocky Johnson and his accomplishments.

Seems Rocky's passing could have been avoided or at least whatever was causing his illness be detected earlier had he just went to the doctor when he started to feel very sick.

On January 15th, the wrestling world lost Rocky Johnson at 75 years old. Brian B. Blair, who was a close friend of Rocky’s, spoke with the Associated Press and shared that Rocky Johnson had previously mentioned that he was dealing with an unspecified illness and missed a Church session with Blair and other wrestlers that he normally attended.

“He was just under the weather, he thought he had the flu or something,” Blair said by phone. “I said, ‘You need to get checked out Rocky.’ He said he’d be OK. Then he missed this Sunday, a few days ago. When I talked to him again, he said he still wasn’t feeling good and he still missed church. He still didn’t get checked out. I talked to Sheila and she said he was just being stubborn. He died at home today.”

According to longtime friend and former wrestler, Rocky passed away due to a blood clot issue.

Brain Blair, who was with Johnson during his last living days, spoke with the Tampa Bay Times and spoke on why the 75-year-old passed away on January 15 in his home. Blair said Johnson had been dealing with a blood clot and that he thought he was dealing with the flu at first.

“A blood clot traveled from his leg into his lung. He died of natural causes,” Blair said.

Blair would go on to add that Johnson did not wantwas reluctant to go see a doctor for the past couple of weeks and only came to a doctor the day before he passed away.
