His back was so fucked by the time he retired. I don't know how he's gonna take bumps.

Mojo Rawley probably the happiest person in WWE right now since his connections to Gronk is likely worth some quality screen time and a nice push for himself.

Often think of nojabba imitating William Regal saying "oh, its Gronk!"

Apparently Gronk’s told people that while he might do a bunch of TV work for the company, he’s only doing a one-off match.

Football players on average transition well

Probably the best for him considering the health issues he had during his NFL career.

Great, so a crappier version of Mojo Rawley.
Mojo will be released within a year of Gronk's departure now; at least that is a positive.

Good signing. Didn't Ernie Ladd need to retire from football? Not saying the guy's going to be that, but people are just shitting on this because it's WWE and it's trendy to knock guys who transition now.

I've always remembered it as Ernie retired because he made way more wrestling.

No... it's actually really shitty to sign someone who can't wrestle as wrestler and bill them as the next fucking great thing. Even more so when they've come out and publicly admitted that they had a ton of concussions, head injuries, mental health issues, etc., and the only healthy solution was and is to (long term) avoid and stay away from contact sports. But yeah, let's exploit the fuck out of that guy for profit, even if he's not going to actually be wrestling that much. After all, at best, we're only costing our stupid customers from a quality product.
This is why this company is shit and deserves to be treated as such. Not only are they fucking stupid, but they (at best) treat their viewers (and their talent) as if they're dumber than the company/folks in charge.

Yeah corperate oligarchies should replace all individual decisions. How can people be trusted to decide what acceptable risks are? Clearly its the responsibility of giant corporations to make these descisions for us. And if they wont then the government should use threat of force to compel them to protect us from ourselves.

Yeah I heard that about Wahoo as well. I thought Ladd's reasoning was the same?

Pretty sure Ladd took up wrestling during the off season (like wahoo) but he had a knee injury so he decided to focus on wrestling when the season started back up since it was more consistent.

For some reason, I'm getting Pacman Jones vibes from this deal. Well, maybe not so much the "personal issues" part, or a full on "NFL injunction against all physicality", but I mean that this is a publicity stunt for his name and he'll prob'ly be limited in being touched.

No, that's called promoting. I'm not one of Gronk's doctors, so I'm not aware of his health issues. I'm sure WWE is just salivating looking for a high profile tragedy to occur on their watch though.
