Evil Vito

Nobody would have blamed WWE for just canning the whole show and making up for it with a really big Summerslam or Survivor Series whenever this virus dies down.

But Vince’s insistence that Mania go on despite all of this is just a new level of stubborn.

Meltzer:

"The WrestleMania card has also changed. Names are being kept confidential because so few know, but it’s been confirmed that multiple people on the card either said they were sick, which meant instantly being pulled off all shows this week, there were others who did not feel sick but had fevers above 100.4, which was the WWE’s cut-off point of not allowing people to work, and others who, on their own, said they didn’t feel comfortable flying in. Both AEW and WWE had told people that if they don’t want to come, they don’t have to come and that the decisions made now won’t be held against them when it comes to future booking."

I do not understand how Wrestlemania wasn't just postponed. Fuck...Indy 500 has until August.

Supposedly the mentality from Vince and others in similar agreement is to just get Mania over with and not bother having it hang over for months regardless of the situation later.

They flat out don't want to cancel it nor deal with any schedule or planning problems if Mania were to get pushed back.

My guess is they start in the ring for 1-2 minutes then...

Braun does his running shoulder tackle thing outside the ring but Goldberg spears him, rolls him in and Braun kicks out. Goldberg goes for Jackhammer and Braun reverses immediately into powerslam and wins 1-2-3.

Apparently Verizon Fios is charging almost $120 if you want to watch both nights of Mania on PPV.

Comcast is charging around $100 on their PPV service.

The PPV price for WrestleMania continues to vary depending on where you live. Verizon Fios is charging $59.99 each for both shows. Comcast is offering day one for $39.95 and day two for $59.95. I can tell you that WWE was hoping for a regular WrestleMania price and that you would get both shows for that price as opposed to this, and the ability to watch either show for half of a normal Mania price, but it is up to the cable companies.

Is it the ECW effect? I wanted everything WWF did to be more like ECW at that time. So I thought it sucked because it wasn't "that cool". Plus obviously Hell in a Cell wasn't great. Now watching I just want to see WWF be WWF so I enjoy it a lot more now than when I was a kid.

As a WM it obviously wasn't the best when compared to some of the many quality WM events that came before and after it. At the same time, in hindsight and compared to some of the awfulness that occurred before and after it, it's still a damn solid PPV & WM.

If he doesn't then that would have meant WWE's assurances of nobody being punished or losing their spot/push was a blatant lie.

If he does end up being away for a very long time, sort of hope WWE brings back the Vince hobo army idea but with Reigns as the leader instead and him sporting a glorious bushy beard.

No it doesn't. It could be a timing issue or them just being tentative. He may not want a massive push and to carry the whole company at that point. There are plenty of reasons Roman returning in even two years wouldn't necessarily result in the whole company being restructured.

Yes it does considering ever since Smackdown's move to FOX, WWE was building him up to become the face of the brand by Mania. Might have not seemed as obvious at the time considering the never ending Corbin feud but it became a lot clearer what they were doing after that ended.

Regardless of how long Reigns is out, if they decide to not give him his push back then they lied about nobody being punished if they had to pull out due to illness or health concerns. Plus Vince has been trying for years to make Reigns his next mega star and not even him having leukemia stopped those plans.

Does anybody really believe Vince McMahon isn't going to hold it against guys who drop out of mania?

Maybe against The Miz considering his dumb decision to work while feeling ill caused this mess to happen.

No it doesn't. Let's say they decide to put the belt on Braun and things work out. If Roman comes back in a few months, a year, whatever and doesn't win the belt, it doesn't mean he's being "punished." Time doesn't freeze. It will just mean that Fucktember 2021 or whatever isn't the same as March 2020.

But Vince never forgets

With his age, I bet he's starting to.

"Well it’s a funny thing. I think you can watch our business in multiple different ways and one of them is the storyline aspect of it, and follow the storyline. Another way is the online component of it and the reality of it behind it. Roman has his situation and his reasons for doing the things that he’s doing, but I will say from our standpoint and the storyline standpoint, it’s going to play out in a unique manner and we want it to play out that way. It’s not necessarily putting me in an awkward position. It’s just, for me, saying I don’t want to give away the ending of the movie before the movie takes place. So I think everybody just has to watch and see how this unfolds. But it will unfold in a unique way and I think it will be meaningful for everybody.”

Braun probably runs Roman over with a car or some dumb overused spot when they need to pull someone from the match

Braun Strowman dresses up as Roman Reigns and wins the belt as Roman Reigns.
