Why replay Ric Flair's retirement match from Mania 24 when it has nothing to do with this weekend's Mania show?

At least the other past matches that were replayed had some connection to Mania 36 instead of just solely being a lazy excuse to eat up time. Neither Flair nor HBK are competing on this weekend's show.

Maybe this will be Goldberg's final match

Lacey Evans somehow botched doing something as simple as a sunset flip rollup.

Trying to think of the last time I saw that happen. One of Botchamania's recent episodes probably has it.

Penelope Ford managed to botch a hurricanrana the last time she wrestled on AEW Dynamite but that was more of her slipping off of Statlander's shoulders while Lacey pretty much pulled a Charlotte with how inaccurate her flip was.

Women's triple threat match was pretty terrible.

Based on Wikipedia's time for Ric Flair's retirement match at Mania 24, guess nothing new is happening on Smackdown till the top of the next hour.

Already on track to be the worst empty arena show by WWE so far.

WWE reminding people of how much better JR is than Michael Cole

Smackdown not trending on Twitter...

I wonder if they'll address Roman vs Goldberg or just save it for Mania to switch to Braun

Emperor Smeat

Despite not being a fan of WWE wasting a ton of time airing these past Mania matches instead of using it to help improve Mania's build, that "I'm Sorry, I Love You" moment during HBK vs. Flair was one of the best ever moments in Mania history.

Droford

Lol they just replaced Roman with no explanation

slik

LMAO that's how they set-up Goldberg vs Strowman

Michael Cole "Goldberg will now face Braun Strowman", that's it.

LOL

Emperor Smeat

 at that Braun Strowman photo for his match against Goldberg.

Wait that's how they announce Reigns isn't on the show anymore. That was lame as hell and Triple H sucks for hyping up that WWE had something really interesting to set up the announcement.

The old "he murdered his wife and kid" treatment

Droford

I dont see how Braun wins with zero build to the match when they probably figure they can do Roman/Goldberg at Summerslam

Droford
04-03-2020, 10:11 PM
Seriously it's crazy if you think about it, the only build for the universal Championship match at wrestlemania will be "As far as the Universal Championship. the iconic Goldberg will now defend his universal Championship against the 320 lbs monster among men Braun Strowman "

No promos, no video packages, just a match graphic and that 15 second blurb By cole

Emperor Smeat

These voice over spots by Cole are pretty bad mainly because it doesn't match his voice from the show's tapings.

NXT and NXT UK does the same thing every so often as well whenever they need to update taped stuff for current times.

Ummm why did Snickers film an ad with Sheamus in a speedo ... then again don't want to known.

That's like what 3 hacker-related gimmicks that occurred during the same time in wrestling.

1 with Impact, 1 with NXT, and now SD expanding on their own one.

 at the female ref's bickering about Sami & Pals post-match attack to Bryan and Gulak.

Guess the other refs and security were too busy practicing some social distancing to lend any help.

ngl that was a way better teleportation spot than Matt Hardy had on AEW a couple weeks ago.

Emperor Smeat
04-03-2020, 11:01 PM
Cena's promo was pretty great.

:y: Rambling Rabbit lives. That edit of Bray suddenly teleporting to the ring while the Fiend looked on was pretty cool.

Smackdown itself was pretty skippable overall and this year's Road to Mania was one of the worst ever even after factoring in the circumstances.

One of the good things about empty arena shows is being able to pull off stuff like that which wouldn't be possible or lose the surprise factor if a crowd was around.

Despite its divisiveness, personally felt the Hardy teleportation stuff on AEW was also a pretty cool trick for similar reasons.
