It might make some companies feel wary about running future shows in the state if the Athletic Commission starts paying more attention to wrestling events from now on. Would definitely hurt the smaller indies but even bigger notable ones like ROH and AEW might think twice for shows there.

David Bixenspan mentioned earlier that the list of rules as is pretty much makes it impossible to run wrestling events in the state without breaking a rule and being hit with a fine or worse.

Yeah they can kiss any live wrestling events goodbye. I can't believe it just based on how dumb it sounds.

Hair pulling, deliberately leaving the ring, unsportsmanlike conduct lol.

Jericho probably called Cody a Stupid Idiot, that's unsportsmanlike.

LMAO really though, that sounds like every wrestling show ever.

Also, WWE ran Extreme Rules from that same arena in 2017.

Surely the net outcome to this is Maryland gets no wrestling shows? Who does this dick think he’s getting at?

Why don't they just ban it? Fucks sake man, not much you CAN do!

You can wrestle, but don't do the wrestling parts k? Shit dude, some people can do their punches so well, they look like closed fists, but aren't.

Maryland once banned Balls Mahoney for life for blading at an indie event (the Wrestling Zone in 2001) in my town (i was away for College though..ugh) and then WWE managed to get them to let him wrestle at an ECW house show in my town (2006, which was up until recently Kurt Angles last wwe appearance but I digress)

Chris Cruise should pay AEW $10,000 for that bullshit

Seems out of those rules list, the Commission really only cares about the use of blood in wrestling since that is what AEW got fined for and not anything else.

In their ruling, the commission said the following:

"The Commission acknowledges that while AEW took precautions to reduce the potential for injury to both Mr. Good and Mr. Smith by using materials, in certain instances, to simulate injury and merely give the appearance of bleeding, blood was introduced into the ring in other instances during this professional wrestling match through the deliberate and repeated actions of the two referenced wrestlers as scripted by AEW."

"Smith" is Tyson Smith, aka Omega, and "Good" is Jon Good, aka Moxley.

They should have been fined way more for the match for quality purposes alone.

Who is that guy anyways?

If he is just some rando that actually got them fined, that's pretty damn funny to me.

I legit wish wrestling was still old school and one of the boys would find Chris Cruise and beat the shit out of him for this.

Chris Cruise isn't wrong though. That sort of shit is awful. He's being a toss about it, but AEW did some bad fucking shit in a place they shouldn't have. If wrestling were still old-school, Tony Khan wouldn't be promoting and half the AEW roster wouldn't be employed.

Even if it was old school, Tony would still be a money mark.

Either every wrestler is lying about how they are making the most they ever made or AEW is losing a ton of money.

I agree, bring back the good old days where wrestling was a fine upstanding event and no one underhanded or with bad intentions ever promoted a show :shifty:
