The Benchwarmers
Jack & Jill
Super Troopers
Kicking and Screaming
I will likely be going pure comedy on this one

One of my favorite movies ever is considered really bad by most people. But fuck them. Krull is the titties.
I'm with you on Super Troopers too.

As a youth, I remember enjoying the Masters of the Universe film. Haven't seen it since I was a youth and would probably find it terrible now.

It's supposedly being re-made, may be in development hell though.

Mom and Dad Save the World is pretty awesome. Used to watch it all the time, and I really want to see it again. Been years.
I don't actually know what the general reception to that movie is, and if I should be ashamed to like it..... but it does rule

I'll try and find a way to see it and I'll let you know.
Watching Benchwarmers last night reminded me how confused it is. Constantly saying "don't be a bully" but punching down at everything in sight.
A great movie.

What the hell is this nonsense.... I decided to actually search for it to see if it was on any streaming service.... and it is on Crave.... but in a FRENCH language version only. Who would do such a terrible thing?

It is terrible. No need to ruin your childhood fondness if you don't want to.
Mind you, I was a kid who loved it, saw it in the theater. Was busting for a piss halfway through, but held it til the end so I didn't miss a thing. First movie I ever remember having a post credit PS that sets up a sequel that was never going to happen.
It's an objectively bad movie, though. It looks like one of those things riddled with executive meddling and studio indulgences, and barely resembles what it was even supposed to be, kinda like the infamous SMB movie.
I wonder if there's a Rifftrax for it?
Anyway, a guilty pleasure for me is Out For Justice. That movie has always been bullshit, but I can't not watch it whenever it's on. It's peak Seagal, back when he was supposed to be NY Italian, before he became Chinese, and then a black guy over time.

Krull and Super Troopers rule. Whoever said those are bad movies are liars and whores and you don't need them in your life.

I remember watching Masters Of The Universe at my best friend's birthday party as a little boy.
None of us watched it properly, we just messed about.
His big brother who was watching us kept telling us to "pack it in".
His name was Dave The Spots because he was spotty.

Masters of the Universe is my best friends favorite movie ever. He still watches it all the time and constantly makes references to it that hardly anyone else ever gets.

There's movies I watch all the time too though I guess and make references to. The Goonies, Twister, Neverending Story and Labyrinth get my attention whenever they are on. Those movies are all fucking awesome though.
Now I'm off to share a Baby Ruth with my dog Falcor and then try to convince the babe with the power to take me to the suck zone.

Year One is a good film for this list.
Infinitely unquotable but every good line seems like it came from s more popular movie.
Also David Cross is spectacular in it. Just grand.

I....I honestly don't think I've ever actually watched that movie. Might have to do that later.

I watch it when I'm fucked up.
I couldn't tell you anything more than a basic plot outline.
It is awful.
But it makes me laugh every single time.

A movie has to go out of its way to offend my sensibilities so I tend to go easy on movies in terms of quality. Generally speaking I've never gave a shit what people thought of my viewing habits.
She-Ra is one of the best animations on Netflix.

If it makes me laugh I can't hate it. It's different with most other genres, comedy only has one job.
The Hottie And The Nottie made me laugh...

Pretty sure a reviewer called it "eugenics propoganda" or something similar, but that toe nail scene tho...

Nobody is taking a critical review of a mediocre comedy film that literally.
This is a problem Kalyx has that he assumes everyone else must also.
Kalyx triaD
06-05-2020, 04:50 PM
It's about that specific review. I'm saying when critics these days put upon some kind of propagandists intention on a work, they do in fact mean it.
Never seen this movie you're talking about nor heard of tge reviewer.

Seanny One Ball
06-05-2020, 06:43 PM
You observe everything literally though.
Maybe there is an increase in people saying it, but I doubt everyone means it or even understands the claim.
It'll blow over, like the trannies and the SJW stuff eventially will. It'll all blow over and that's when the standard of review will increase.

Sounds like the definition of "clickbait" for review views. Is that called a review review?
The 2nd Blair Witch movie
Book of Shadows...not the one that came out a few years ago.

By the way, I hated this show, even though your sentence structure reminded me of it. It meant I woke up just a tiny bit too early for Saturday morning cartoons, but if I went back to sleep for what was supposed to only be 30 minutes, I risked missing a good couple hour chunk of shit I actually wanted to see. So, I had to force myself to slog through this shite for 30 minutes... which is an eternity when you're 4.
