Great match and a really good finish to set up Bucks and FTR. Everyone in this match earned some good money. Great performances all around. I am critical of AEW's flip floppy leg slappin style but still I fucking LOVE The Young Bucks. And they are the kings of that style sure but they do it better than anyone. What a great match. FTR is good for AEW and wrestling in general. Butcher and Blade are truly becoming a part of the roster they were great hires, totally unknown to me. They would also be great in NJPW at some point in their career. Lucha Bro's, fucking insane. OH how they have been missed!

The ECW reference is welcome, doesn't hurt, they are trying to make that character work with Cage, it's not a home run yet but it isn't a bust either. Nick Jackson is fucking insanely gifted, as a pro wrestling athlete it's not easy to find another who can work and think like he can.

AEW announcing is pretty much the best announcing in like 20 years, if they don't hit it out of the part 100% of the time I think you can cut them some slack. It's JR and Tony for crying out loud!

Lucha Bro's go both ways as far as heel/face. But they tend to be dirty. I think that's fine because they are obviously very marketable and easy to cheer for but, when they play the role of bad guy or dirty, they play it very well and I think they get heat from the crowd. But I do see how you could have an issue with that.

I really just disagree with the idea that what they booked was bad on that finish. I think it was solid and more or less the right way to do it. Simply because there is no need to to have the very established Young Bucks and the already very established FTR get the win, it really didn't matter because the match was a showcase that got everyone over.

I don't mind the announcing, I dislike the over the top lovefest, specifically when the claims are so over the top. Nick Jackson does some good spots, but best pure athelete, give me a break. However you want to define, it's not him. Pac is a more gifted high flyer, and much stronger, is more of a pure athlete. A guy like Hager with legit credentials is more of a pure athlete.

Just say "wow, he is such a gifted athlete". It gets the exact same message across without taking it to an absurd level.

And yes, I'm nitpicking, but like I said before, it was the 3rd thing in a row that annoyed me.

Jericho vs. OC ended up being very good in the end.

Night 2 of Fyter Fest was very entertaining overall. Only real weak point was the Britt and Swole segment since it felt like a big miss from both.

Enjoyed tonight's show. Tag title match was fun but man I wish private party would ditch that dumb silly string move. Just too contrived for me. I agree that hangman and omega need to drop the belts at all out. I'd like to see lucha bros get them. Mostly because they're Mexican and also because they're legit fun to watch and imo have been misused.

I think it's fine the bucks cost themselves and FTR the match. Them winning after a botch wouldn't build any tension imo. This can start the fire. Everybody looked good in that match.

Jericho giving Cassidy a star making night. I think Orange slips right back to the midcard where he belongs but it was a fun match and Jericho made him look credible.

Next week's FTR v Lucha Bros is prob gonna be the of the night. That's a ppv level match.

I have really liked how they've built up Cage and wish they were holding off on feeding him to Moxley. If They were willing to keep Moxley out of the ring for a while and use the FTW belt as a pseudo world title with Cage destroying babyfaces for a month or so before finally running into and losing to Moxley would be better for a payoff. Instead he'll prob lose clean next week and like Archer and Lee, start back at square one.

A lot of stuff that's 4 stars from this era is usually overrated and contrived. Honestly, I can't FUCKING stand most NXT matches that people blow their loads over. Very formulaic stuff. Lots of big moves that nobody should kick out of, followed by a million nearfalls.

The few Japan matches I'll watch are pretty good though.

Oh man I know. I am all about Bret vs Diesel matches, there are so many good ones on WWE network. There is one from a show in July 94 that ended up being a Colesium tape that is really good, this is after their first match at KOTR 94, both of these matches are really incredible. Bret worked with Nash so well. Also I really enjoyed Bret vs Sid at that Dec 97 In Your House event. Bret was great with the big dudes. But that Survivor Series match was excellent and probably my favorite of all of their matches, but then again you have the cage match at In Your House in Feb 96 that was great too.

NXT getting rave reviews for their matches from him is mainly due to the PWG influence that brand has.

That makessense. Looking back, as good as a job as AEW did with building Moxley up to win the belt, his run has been underwhelming. Not becauseof him. But because AEW only had one real heel to feed him and it was Jericho. After that the virus caught them with their pants down as there was nobody readily available to give him a compelling opponent.

If they do go with MJF, and they absolutely should, they'll have plenty of babyfaces to go up against MJF to build up his reign. Page, Omega, Dustin, Jungle Boy again, Luchasauras, etc.

The only question is who's gonna be the guy to dethrone MJF. Unless they retread or decide to go with Cody, I don't see who would be next in line.
