All of the men's matches have great potential. Hoping Mox/Cage can deliver a fun brawl after the dull affair that was his match against Hager.

I can get behind Cody's open challenges as an every other week thing, but don't want to see it every week since AEW's got a pretty big roster to showcase. It's been two weeks since his last defense so I hope he keeps it up. All told I'm not all that familiar with Sonny Kiss' work since he's mostly been working Dark or tag matches so I'm keen to see this one.

FTR/Luchas has the potential to be amazing since both teams are brilliant in completely different ways.

6-man tag will be chaotic fun.

Brandi Rhodes is pretty awful in the ring so I don't have high hopes for that one regardless of opponents. But hey Brandi and Allie in ring gear is at least something nice to look at.

Mox’s reign hasn’t been great in terms of match quality. The Hager match in particular was pretty brutal to sit through. Cage is more versatile than anyone else he’s faced so far, so hopefully they get a good result.

How smart are The Bucks? I get different accounts of them either being cunning as foxes or completely oblivious. They bring in FTR and FTR are almost immediately iced. They do bullshit WWE entertainment stuff and lose in their first big match (The Bucks took the pin though, so it's all good, wink, wink). Then they book themselves to team with Kenny Omega against Marko Stunt, which has just enough of a "we're going to be working with Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus" guise that they can justify it. Omega is going to do a bunch of ridiculous things with Stunt. You just know it. But it won't be The Bucks, wink, wink, and they'll probably win, wink, wink.

I swear they are trying to make FTR look fucking ridiculous for trying to be serious tag wrestlers in their promotion because they are threatened by their critical plaudits.

Not sure I'd consider Sonny to be a joke character although to be fair, he hasn't really gotten to show much in AEW.

In Lucha Underground, his character wasn't that deep compared to notable others but also was not really in the same realm as a comedic wrestler or some random one-note wrestler.

Agree on not booking Moxley vs. Cage would have solved that dilemma but doing a towel throw finish is the least worst option available if you needed Cage to lose but didn't want him to actually eat a pin or tap out.

They already made it clear they don't do DQ or No Contest finishes so that gets rid of that lazy booking option. That makes it possible to use that finish in the future for something truly major which this match wasn't.

WWE poisoning the well with submission finishes over the past 15+ years is why the idea of Cage tapping would have had any negative association attached to it.

* Opening the match with Sonny Kiss and Cody is smart. Get the LGBT crowd that is sure to be following Sonny Kiss on-board QUICK! They aren't already wrestling fans, so you need to make that impression out the gate. Yeah, the match wasn't great, but you can't blame Sonny and Cody for that. There are only so many gay athletes out there, so to find a good one must be pretty hard, even in 2020. Onwards and upwards, boys!

* OMG! FTR vs. Lucha Bros is a DREAM MATCH! I mean, I've only known of the Lucha Bros for about a year and FTR's new name is new to me, but omg, this is the best tag team scene in the world. Can you name another division outside of Japan specifically in this millennium not count the WWE right now that has better tag teams? A classic clash of styles. And you just know that they are building up to a Masks vs. Title or Careers match in the future between these teams in the future that they definitely won't forget about.

* I read someone saying that the truck stuff with FTR is silly. HELLO! They need PERSONALITIES! They are truck drivers that love trucks. How can you be so dense? This is going to help them appeal to the thousands of truckers across the US and lots of southern people. They'll be bringing in the gay people with Sonny Kiss and the southerns with FTR. It's SMART. And it sticks it to McMahon and his yes man cronies who said that The Revival never had any PERSONALITY. Well, they're OOZING it in AEW!

* HAHAHA! Jericho is so funny! Him riling up the NERDS on the internet who care about ratings is BRILLIANT! Someone said to me that it was stupid to bring up them losing in viewership on the show and they look insecure, but I fired back and told them that they are obviously secure enough to bring it up on the air. They look cool as hell because they don't care if they're popular or not. And then the ORANGE JUICE falling on Jericho. Hahahahahahahahaha! I've never seen that before in wrestling! Chalk one up for originality on that one! Get it?! ORANGE Cassidy?! Orange JUICE! You won't see Jericho having a jacket get wrecked on STUPID McMahon television.

* Hahaha! As funny as that was, Marko Stunt making fun of it being silly was hilarious too! Jokes on top of jokes! You can't write this stuff because there are no FAKE writers in this company. Marko Stunt should have a gimmick where he makes fun of everyone. It will be amazing because he is so short, haha. Short man = big balls. That should be his t-shirt.

* Man, Marko Stunt can wrestle. What a fantastic six-man tag team match. Everybody got a chance. It's 2020 and everybody should be treated equal, especially in a wrestling ring. This isn't MMA or boxing or old-school rasslin'. It doesn't need to make sense if it makes cents, people. Omega looked amazing after having beer poured over him. Adam Page sharing booze with the enemy is sure to further along that story. You won't see alcohol involved in a STUPID McMahon storyline.

* I skipped ahead at this point. Not because the show wasn't good, but I just figured that the excitement might be bad for my heart. Thank you AEW for giving me a show so good I cannot watch it all in one sitting without dying from entertainment.

* Vickie Guerrero is back though! So great to see a legend return to our television screens. Especially after STUPID Vince McMahon let her go after only nine years of employment.

* Holy shit, what an amazing match between Cage and Mox. I absolutely LOVED the ending. So smart to have Taz so off his sweet, caring side by throwing in the towel for his friend, Cage. It's nice to know there is a sensitive side to Taz. I like this sort of storyline depth. You won't get that in STUPID WWE. Moxley has beaten another giant, which makes him look unstoppable which is good for him. Cage showed so much heart in defeat, and now that he knows his manager loves him, maybe there is a face turn coming for them? DEVELOPMENT. It's something that STUPID McMahon doesn't get.

Overall, I think this was one of the best episodes of wrestling television I have ever seen in my entire life. I curse the MORON who came up with the 10-point scale, because this show deserves a 14/10. Simply genius start to finish. You had big matches, big returns, beer being poured on people, juice being poured on people and hilarity ensued. How could anyone not like this product?

Cody vs Sonny Kiss wasn't amazing but it was enjoyable.

More importantly it did a good job of presenting Sonny as a threat. More of this from him, please. Lose the handxpring to the corner though. Muta is the only person who's made that work, and Sonny's version isn't changing that.

FTR vs Lucha Bros. was great outside of the botch at the beginning. Fantastic finish.

Split on the finish to Moxley v Cage. It was good match and Cage came out of it looking great. But I feel like they failed at getting over the idea that Cage wasn't going tap as the match was happening so that when Moxley kept him in those arm bars Taz throwing in the towel knowing he was a stubborn bastard who'd end up getting himselfhurt because he wouldn't tap.

With that, Darby v Cage should be fun.

And I think Mike's rise to the main event is on the horizon.

Agree on not booking Moxley vs. Cage would have solved that dilemma but doing a towel throw finish is the least worst option available if you needed Cage to lose but didn't want him to actually eat a pin or tap out.

They already made it clear they don't do DQ or No Contest finishes so that gets rid of that lazy booking option. That makes it possible to use that finish in the future for something truly major which this match wasn't.

WWE poisoning the well with submission finishes over the past 15+ years is why the idea of Cage tapping would have had any negative association attached to it.

Writing themselves into such a tight corner that throwing the towel was their best option does not make that finish any less terrible or excuse it from being called out as such.

The FTW belt shouldn't have just been a vanity belt introduced for no reason - it should have been brought in after a screwy finish to Moxley vs. Cage. Cage effectively saying that the champ couldn't really beat him, so the FTW title is his way of saying that he's the deserving champion, and fuck anyone who thinks otherwise.

That way you get Moxley able to move on to the next challenger, while giving Cage and Taz reason to stay in his rear-view mirror for a future rematch. At the moment, it's a one and done.

Moxley and Cody's programs have followed the same type of pattern where it feels like they're booking like Jerry Lawler in Memphis fighting a revolving door of heels who will move to another territory after. But Cage/Archer/Brodie/Hager are all under contract and not going anywhere. Yet they all struck out in their first opportunity (and in Hager's case, his first opportunity at two separate belts).

At least they sent Cage straight into his next program with Darby so that's an improvement from the others, but still. For as much as I enjoy AEW they still haven't yet mastered booking a longer-term program between two wrestlers.

What I think is going to happen is we are going to get a big 3 Way on Dynamite where Mox pinns Darby leaving Cage still with the argument that Mox has never pinned Cage so they will do another but bigger blow off match with Mox and Cage maybe on TV but probably at All Out 2.

Yeah that is one area in their booking that could use some tweaking. Would make some of their notable feuds feel a bit less disjointed in the end.

Seems they have a real fear of running feuds quickly into the ground like WWE which was also something NXT usually shied away from until around 2 years ago. The other option is to pull off NJPW's style for feud hoping and keeping feuds in an entangled web but they've been hit-or-miss trying to pull that off.

The rankings thing is a great idea in concept because it ensures every match matters and feels important to some extent. You can have a theowaway match to fill time without it feeling throwaway.

But it only works if you stay on top of it and make sure everything makes sense. AEW could definitely be doing a better job of that.
