Seems they recently changed their minds and now he's set to be back later this month.

Excalibur will be back on commentary on the August 26th AEW Dynamite, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Note: Meltzer’s original report said that Excalibur would be back next week, August 12, but the plan is for him to now return on August 26.

He's one of the few guys that seems to get lost in the shuffle sometimes. Feel like a no contest where he and Cody fight off say Brian Cage after a solid match would help all involved.

Yeah. TNT still needs to hold up their end and promote the special new date during their NBA games and programming.

Next week should be really interesting to see if the theory of both NXT and AEW would be having way higher numbers if they were on separate days holds true or not. An extra 200-300k should be possible for both at most.

Dunno, Hangman is one of their most popular baby faces. Feels like it would be really dumb to turn him heel right now. As over as Cody is with the AEW audience, I feel like he’s one guy who could do as much for the company as a heel as he’s done as a face. I’m not sure Page can pull that off.

If people actually keep their masks on the transmission rate is greatly reduced (see: no apparent sign of outbreak after thousands gathered at the various BLM protests) but the difference is the protests were actually important.

The Khans had already said they were allowing 25% capacity at Jaguars games this year, so while they're starting with family and friend fans at AEW I think it's gonna be a slippery slope. Having like 1,500 people at All Out wouldn't surprise me and that should not be happening especially not in the middle of one of the biggest COVID hotbeds.

Haven't been watching much (aka at all), but turning a hot babyface heel can really be a momentum killer. The only bait and switch I recall working (and there's likely a scant few other examples) is the Rock when he joined the Corporation.

As usual, Fignuts is right -- which, for whatever reason, is another win for Dump Matsumoto.

i haven't watched in a couple weeks but i really liked the show, highlights for me were MJF and Tully. good matches and segments for a tv show, like the new tnt belt


also i hope i'm not the only one who noticed and cracked up at taz when he called jericho's finisher the Walls of Jericho, then immediately corrected himself and used Boston Crab, then a few seconds later he accidentally said "fuck" when trying to complete a sentence
