Rate the Game: Week 39

Another week down. I factored in my rating of 3 when calculating the overall score for last week's arcade classic, Pac-Man. The little yellow bastard still has some love going for him even after all of these years. I wonder how Ms. Pac-Man would fare. A question for another time as we update the leaderboard with Pac-Man's average rating of 3.125. Here's how things stand now:

Easy 5 for me. One of the most memorable RPG's I've ever played. The music, story, multiple endings and chance to take on Lavos at the very start of the game was some crazy shit.

Easy 5 for me. One of the most memorable RPG's I've ever played. The music, story, multiple endings and chance to take on Lavos at the very start of the game was some crazy shit.


Played that for AGGGGEEEEESSSSS. Would buy again.

I would say the music alone is worth the price of admission.

Yeah, that's easy to recognize. I'd say the fairground music is also one of the better pieces.

Definitely a 5, absolute masterpiece, one of the crown jewels of the SNES alongside Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the United States of America). One of the games that got me into RPGs in the first place.
Man, this just makes me wanna go play it now. Shame I lost my SNES and original SNES cartridge during the hurricane.

I remember the re-release on playstation. It was cool because I got to see the animated cutscenes. The fucking pause before every fight loaded was super annoying though.


Played Chrono Cross too, but it didn't even feel like it was in the same family of games. Maybe it wasn't, I dunno.

No, I know it is (am old, memory fading). They directly reference cast members from Chrono Trigger. It was probably just more of "Chrono Trigger was so epic" in my brain that they felt worlds apart.


I'd love to play it again TBH. The thing that sticks out most was fighting some dragon down in an ice cave or something? I dunno, was a very, very long time ago.

Cold Cut Combo with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and topped with mustard and mayo is my go-to for Subway. I actually feel kind of bad designating it as the '2' but, oh, well.

Absolutely a 5. There is not a single flaw within this game. Storytelling, characters, soundtrack, the gameplay, everything. It's the only title across any medium I've played/watched that does the whole time-travel thing well and doesn't fuck it up. Some would argue that it's a bit on the short/easy side; I would counter that it simply respects your time and doesn't require you to waste hours grinding just to pass some hurdle of a boss and lets you carry on through its excellent story.
