Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's another week! Last week we tackled Samus and her Zero Suit gloriousness. I mean, we tackled her Super Nintendo entry of Super Metroid but let's face it, some of us were thinking about Zero Suit Samus. Right? :o

Well, the number 14 spot just got a whole lot more crowded and steamy as Super Metroid helps in creating another first on the leaderboard: A FOUR-WAY TIE! It averages a solid 4.0 rating and joins Mario, Sonic, and Scottie Pippen in the upper reaches of this list.

Samus has had her day in the hot seat but who will be next? Behold...

...and there we go. Oddly it got blurry close up but you can read it fine when its further away. Well if you can't see it either way the game is Twisted Metal! That's right, the original car battle title on the original Playstation joins the fray and dares you to remember it and pass your judgment upon it. Addendum: As we head into the final week I once again want to thank everyone, past, present, and future for joining me in this endeavor. It's a nice read into where the good people of TPWW stand on what entertains their thumbs. That being said, there is one more game left in the tank and I figure I should do something extra in that regard. I'll make it a guessing game for you guys as to what you think is the final game in the container and I'll give some bonus rep to whoever gets it right just as an extra thank you.

GROUND RULES:
1. You'll get 5 guesses.
2. Post them here along with your comments on this week's game if you have any.
3. Remember, I did my best to avoid sequels and there shouldn't be anymore left.
4. No titles after 2007 were part of this so that should limit your scope somewhat.

Addendum to the addendum: I know limiting this to only 50 games has been a sticking point for some people and I have received requests to consider keeping this going with more titles. I know it was rough for me to narrow things down to only this amount. If you're open to the idea of me doing another round, feel free to PM me saying so along with any suggestions for games you might have. If there's enough of a push I'll pick some out to add to some that I've been considering and I suppose work towards continuing this with a new container of doom. Alright, that's enough for now. I've really enjoyed it. It's brought back some great gaming memories as well as turned me on to a few titles I altogether forgotten about.


Maybe there can be themed ones moving forward, I dunno? Trying to think of varied approaches to them to shake things up.


Maybe do one that had "exclusive" statuses from the days of yore when it mattered. or a "generational best of" or something.


Just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

3. It was solid and fun, but also felt VERY unfair at times. I remember first completing the game with Warthog because his missiles were OP as fook.

Twisted metal gets a 2. Was always overhyped bullshit that was only popular because of the time. You can pretty much pick your cart racer and they all had better combat and controls and were more fun. There's a reason that every time they try to make a new twisted metal it ends up tanking: the whole thing has always sucked.

Not for nothing I remember the image of Sweet Tooth being plastered all over your average gaming magazine in the late nineties. Marketing counts for something, I suppose.

Although I don't really have that many fond memories of the original I do remember liking Twisted Metal: Black on the PS2. Playing as the Goth chick was pretty fun.
