It’s being reported that there have been major changes pitched backstage in WWE regarding the RETRIBUTION faction on Raw.

As per Fightful Select, a “high-level” pitch was made which will likely lead to a split or fracture within the group.

This comes after there have been teases of dissension within the group on TV, with members of the group accidentally costing Mustafa Ali his matches on Raw recently.

The speculation has furthered since T-BAR (Dominik Dijakovic) made some interesting changes to his social media ...

The report notes that tentative plans for the group were put in place for this week, but knowing WWE, the idea may be scrapped anyway.

WTF was that shit? That was straight awful. WWE pretty much is the only one who constantly does that these days and as a leftover from the era where main event matches were meant to be very lengthy battles that sometimes went to time limit draws or near draws.

NJPW does it the best where they design their cards so the lower tier matches go on first and act as crowd warmers and matches going upwards in terms importance so the crowd is very hot by the time the main event happens.

I briefly tried to watch on Peacock after signing up then switched to WWE Network and the quality on Peacock looked way worse... looked like 720 on Peacock vs 1080 on WWE Network I think...

WWE could have cut several matches tonight and Fastlane would have been a much better PPV to debut on Peacock than what they gave tonight.

As is, it was mostly all right. Still didn't change my mind going in that this was a mostly useless and very uninteresting PPV that wasted time that could have been spent to make Mania's build a lot better than what its gotten so far.

Good match between DBry/Roman, as always when they square off.

It makes sense to add Dbry to the main-event at WM, easy way to get the title to Edge without Roman getting pinned.

Drew is the baby face beefcake that Vince wanted Cena to be. The Fiend has jumped several sharks. D Bry is a guaranteed 4 star match and Roman did good too. Ending was gay.

Here’s what I’ll say about the Fiend. If you want to hype it up as some murder monster who tries to kill opponents by dropping light fixtures or throwing fireballs and then your actual finish is just aggressively throwing someone on their shoulder, it’s going to be lame.

I could see it being the other way around with Bryan vs. Edge on Night 1 and winner gets Reigns on Night 2.

Storyline-wise, Bryan right now has more beef with Edge over costing him the chance at winning the title than he has with Reigns for beating him via shenanigans. Best revenge Bryan can get is denying Edge that very valuable show closing Mania main event title match.

Think its a combo of NXT Creative still having nothing for him and him getting hurt a couple years ago deflated all the momentum and plans NXT had for him at the time.

Think he also caught some serious backlash online last year for not wearing a mask for a while at WWE's shows at the Performance Center and the lame excuse(s) he gave.

Could tell the edge chair shot was coming a mile off with how they went tight on Bryan and reigns with the camera shot. Though knowing Kevin Dunn i'm amazed the chair didn't have a camera attached to it.

WWE would have had the show of the century if they booked Christian in Daniel Bryan's spot, but instead they lost him again....

Caught a bit of the show. Basically like a set-up show for Mania, not unlike a SNME. It was pretty good stuff, honestly. I don’t know how you can shit on this, for example, then go on to praise AEW.

Yeah, a lot of stupid stuff, but it’s not like you don’t get that everywhere now. If you think your Bray Wyatt/Alexa stuff is good (it’s not), this is probably what you do.

The main event story felt like old-school stuff. Everyone has a reason to be mad at everyone. Edge is turning heel, but so far he is pretty justified in his frustrations. Every performer is carrying themselves with an internal logic. And the match was fucking awesome.

And there’s so much history in these stories. Orton and Wyatt go back to 2016. Drew and Sheamus back 20 years or whatever. The Edge/Daniel Bryan stuff seems likely to be based around their career comebacks, so it’s really going to cover a lot of time, even if Bryan and Edge interacting is new. Edge and Roman go back to the 2020 Royal Rumble and I think maybe even further. Bryan and Roman have always been getting into it.

WWE is just telling better stories right now.
