This is great.

This happening has HHH/Tony Khan written all over it, I can see both being very cool with it happening.

Gonna be weird for Jericho to be on a show that people actually watch

I wonder if WWE’s aging audience will even be able to remember him.

The fact that it's airing immediately after WrestleMania and therefore might get a mention on the show as most of Austin's post-PPV interviews do makes it even weirder.

Jericho definitely going to get himself a mega offer from AEW at the end of his contract.

Crazy good episode of Broken Skull Sessions. Must watch for fans of WWE, AEW and Chris Jericho. Yes AEW is mentioned a ton of times, talked about directly without hesitation. They start with AEW and go through Jericho's whole career in broad terms. They go to NJPW, AEW and have in depth conversation about the pandemic and how it affected both companies.

Loved this interview. Was wild to hear all of this stuff being discussed on a WWE broadcast but I hope it opens the door for more of this kind of stuff in the future. Maybe some other AEW guys that have WWE backgrounds do the show at some point, WWE lets people do Jericho's show, etc. I won't hold my breath on it of course but it's fun to hear two guys sharing stories like this.

Weird to think back to 10/11 years ago when wrestling podcasting was just getting started and Colt Cabana had Punk on multiple times when he was entrenched as an upper card guy, plus loads of other guys he worked with in FCW (had Zack Ryder on when he started to heat up, etc). Took several years for WWE to put a stop to it once they realized podcasting was big and they could make their own.

Agree with you 100% Vito. You are not a victim of conspiracy here.

The show also truthfully highlights Jericho's genius and at the end of it you realize how Jericho's legend is bigger than you may have thought before going in. Compare Jericho's career to Austin or Rock's, it's decades longer and the depth of it far outweighs those legends. I'm not saying "Jericho is a bigger draw than Rock or Austin", just that the weight of his career (and gut) far out weighs Rock and Austin.

He has succeeded everywhere in the world in every company, what a feat. And at this stage of his career to be a main event draw in NJPW, and then to launch AEW as the main star for half a year. What an accomplishment. It brings me to right now as well. Jericho started to get stale and lost in the card with his recent 6 months or so since the Orange Cassidy feud. Now as of last week, he's cut one of the best promo's of his career and has a new direction forward as a Jericho style babyface. I love it and honestly since last week he's probably the one I'm looking forward to seeing the most on AEW again. Funny enough I had been thinking and maybe even posting about how it might be good for Tony to let Jericho ride off at the end of this contract. But I hope not, keep Jericho and make him the draw that he should be.

His World Championship run in AEW may have been the best work of his career. For me as a Jerichoholic, it absolutely is my favorite run for the big man. That initial feud with Cody was just absolutely brilliant. We gotta get back there some how.

Yeah I expect Jericho will re-up his contract but there will be breaks negotiated into it much like there were in this one (but the breaks were for him to tour with Fozzy, and with all that cancelled he didn't want to just sit home). Him specifically bringing up that they haven't toured since September 2019 which is right before Dynamite went on the air, you can tell he's chomping at the bit to do a tour as soon as he can.

Which is fine, Jericho's someone you can write off for a few months and he'll have a new twist in his character when he returns.

If my memory serves I believe Fozzy was supposed to tour last summer. So I would assume if he resigns with AEW that there will be the same time off for a tour, or whatever he wants.

It’s insane and possibly a testament to Jericho as a talent that when I see him in his previous WWE stints, from the serious heel turn and title run he had up to the festival of friendship and everything that lead up to it and think to myself how is that the same guy who’s currently doing the podcast.

Jericho interview episode was great.

Austin is easily among the best when it comes to wrestler interviewer/podcast style shows.

I wouldn't be surprised that had it been anyone else as the host for this interview, it probably wouldn't have been approved or been as candid on non-WWE topics as Austin did for this interview. Austin and Rock probably are the only two guys who could get away with asking for anything they want for a show from Vince and he wouldn't bat an eye to it.

Austin ended up returning the favor to Jericho by agreeing to appear on this week's episode of Talk Is Jericho.
