Nice. From what I heard of him when he was on commentary before, he’s got a great energy and a “just one of the fans” vibe without the cringiness of an early Matt Striker. I feel like him on color with Mauro would be outstanding.

I liked what he did when NXT had to cover for Smackdown, and we got the awesome Bryan vs Cole for the NXT Title match.

Very good choice by WWE.

Guess that would explain why his group in NXT sort of abruptly disbanded a little while after he left there since WWE didn't have any real plans for him to actually return to NXT.

I have to wonder how somebody as well off as Pat is going to take to Vince McMahon yelling in his ear. It may get old to him very quickly.

Probably not but Triple H did tease a while back that WWE had plans for McAfee to return this Spring.

Whatever those original plans were for him in NXT got changed after he left while their recent new commentary hiring opened the door to have him now show up on Smackdown instead. All depends on how far back they were in talks with the new commentary guy for RAW.
