Could be a possibility. All depends on how much they are going to veer away from the classic way of doing the match.

AEW putting a roof on their cage solves the big complaint people had with WWE's version of WarGames. WWE removed the roof for their version because they wanted their NXT guys to do high flying moves off the top and being able to potentially escape the cage which defeats the whole purpose of why there was a roof to begin with. Plus WWE's idea for brutality was to just turn it into a hardcore match full of weapons.

The idea for the ending seems pretty good on paper tbh... but was def executed badly

This week's show was very entertaining overall.

Only real weak points were too many commercial breaks killing the buzz of the Blood & Guts match and the goofy looking cardboard stage Jericho crashed into. Guess the ending to Blood & Guts as well since it led into the goofy moment afterwards with Jericho.

In terms of WarGames matches, AEW's Blood & Guts managed to capture the original feel and brutality of WarGames a lot better than NXT's version of it.

I liked the way that MJF got Sammy to surrender but the way the gimmicked the stage was obviously pretty bad. I don't want Jericho to get hurt obviously. I'd rather they just had MJF put his foot on Jericho and the Pinnacle join him at the top of the cage for a good finishing shot. The bump didn't add anything and clearly as a lot of folks here are saying, took away from the match overall.

Still one of the most exciting and insane matches on TV ever. Super wild and realistic at times. It seems like something with Santana and Ortiz, their brawls end up looking quite realistic and ultraviolent. I really loved the whole match and it will be decent selling point to air the whole thing unedited for commercials when AEW eventually launches some kind of over the top app or joins with HBO Max.

Feel they should have swapped around Jericho and Sammy's role for the ending if it was also going to lead to the stage toss afterwards.

They probably over-gimmicked the stage for Jericho's safety since he's much older than Sammy but it came at the cost of looking way more goofy than it should have been on tv. If the stage caved in more and/or it was a painted thin wood floor instead, it would have looked much better.
