He was bad again tonight. Not quite as bad as "Cowboy Shiznit" but man, he is getting worse and worse.

And Excalibur doesnt seem to say anything anymore but selling spots. Telling us about tshirt sales and tickets and how many gems are in the replica belts. Even Schiavone seems to have a rough time keeping it on track.

I think the best solution for JR would be to a permanent two-man team of Excalibur and Tony, then cycle a third person in and out through the show - Don Callis for Omega and Bucks matches, Taz for his guys, JR for the odd big match, Paul Wight and Mark Henry can fit in there, and other people could get tryouts as they go. Keeps the appeal of JR as a "big match announcer" but without expecting him to carry a whole show (and hopefully would mean he's got less to have to remember).

Having Tony Shiavone and Excalibur call AEW is not too dissimilar to celebrating the commentary tandem of Michael Cole and Corey Graves, and having a product they can call but Gorilla and Jesse get lost on.

JR has gone onto Twitter to suggest changes and signings for the company. If he’s doing that, then it’s because they’re not listening to him. Otherwise he would just tell them, haha. Arn Anderson has basically confirmed he will change his stance for money. On his podcast he was asked about the modern style. He said something like “If you asked me a few months ago, I’d have said it sucks. But now I see how much the fans there like it.” Which is always such a vacuous argument. But you can pick up the subtext — “I know this sucks, but I will put whatever spin I can on it now that I’m getting a cheque.”

I broke down and actually watched the Omega/Dark Order segment. A few thoughts.

1. Why are people so sure that the guy who can't even call out the Champion himself is gonna beat Omega? Omega runs him down and he isn't man enough to stand up for himself? This whole segment made him look weak.
2. How are 6 dudes so intimidated of a guy who is a complete god damned dork that they don't jump him for running them down? Faces and heels don't matter, right? This segment made them look weak... er.
3. Was it too much to ask to have them step up to Omega, get jumped by the cannon fodder (Cutler and Nakazawa) and the Dumb Fucks from behind. Have Page come out to make the save, and it culminate with him staring down Omega?

I'm gonna call it right now. Omega pins this guy, clean as a sheet, after a single One Winged Angel. And the Bullet Cult will be impressed at how Tony Khan, Booker of the Year, "Swerved" them.

AEW sucks in this entirely different way that wrestling has never sucked. It’s a lot of TNA, a bit of 2001 WCW, a bit of 1993-1996 WCW, a lot of Raw. It’s fucking awful.

It really is like community theatre.
