View Full Version : Is it time for R-Truth to win the 2022 Royal Rumble match?

R-Truth is a comedic genius and a genetic freak. Smooth in the ring with many titles under his belt, he's headlined pay-perv-iews with Hollywood celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Cena and Miz. With fans coming back to arenas, this is the right time to push R-Truth to the moon and have him win the 2022 women's Royal Rumble match.

With WWE being a global juggernaut and having their finger on the pulse of pop culture, this is the most opportune time to voice their opinion on the inclusion of trans athletes in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. By having one of their premier athletes transition, they're opening up a dialogue about inclusion and acceptance.

But to make Truth believable as a viable threat to the women's division, she'll need a push like no other. It starts with her popping up on Friday Night Smackdown Live and annihilating her former protege Carmella with a series of scissor kicks from hell. This will lead to her first singles bout at SummerSlam which will be no short of a blood bath. Carmella essentially reprising the role of Cactus Jack at Backlash 2004, elevating Truth to main-event status. The two go on to have a hardcore-style death match on Smackdown Live resulting in Carmella going through a flaming table covered in thumbtacks, barbwire and legos.

Carmella is taken off tv to sell the spot until she makes her triumphant return in the 2022 women's Royal Rumble match at #1. She goes through 28 other women, eliminating the likes of Becky Lunch, Charlotte and a very pregnant Ronda Rousey. The countdown clock hits zero as we go to an extreme closeup of her face to emphasis utter horror. Truth walks slowly towards the ring, methodically and maniacally. Carmella has flashbacks of the flaming table spot and does a moonsault off the top rope to eliminate herself and scrams through the crowd. Truth merely makes her way inside the ring and wins the 2022 Royal Rumble match to a monstrous ovation.

There's no better time to elevate R-Truth and have her win the 2022 Royal Rumble match.

Did HBK need the belt in his last run? Nobody in their right mind thinks R-Truth is anything less than a top-tier hall of famer.

Guru Dave would never use the term “slut brigade”. This might be Noid.

And to answer the question, there is absolutely no reason not to have R-Truth win the rumble. Seriously.

I really wish they would have the Rumble winner be an upset or an accident just once. And then give that person a 2 month build of working on themselves and believing they can do it.

Nothing screams current like having a trans athlete win the royal rumble match. Also having a pregnant woman compete in the rumble further breaks down patriarchal barriers. This is their opportunity to rectify the Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal blunder. Maybe they can have all the women join forces and eliminate Santina Marella Mohammad Hasaan style.

The only problem with this is that they'd pick an obvious joke character (like the dude with no chin who's name escapes me but kept getting fluke wins over AJ Styles. I'm sure someone will post it) or someone who was just previously buried into oblivion (like when they gave Jinder Mahal that four week credibility build from jerking curtians to being WHC) to do that instead of someone that could be pushed into a credible threat but "just not quite there yet".

If they didn't pull what they did with the guy, I would have said someone like Mustafa Ali being perfect for that role. You know, if he kept getting the treatment he was getting BEFORE that pseudo-anarcist, directionless, dime store Fist of the North Star Zeed Gang stable killed the credibility of everyone associated with the group in one fell swoop.

It’s amazing that after all these years they’ve never done it. Truth is perfect for it. He’s been around for a long time. He’s a fan favorite. He’s entertaining as hell and it’s not hard to see the fans getting behind him. Even if he doesn’t win the belt, it would be fun and completely different to see him somehow win the Rumble, Bert built up week by week and challenge for a belt.

How have they not done the twin magic bait and switch gimmick with Mustafa Ali and Mansoor is beyond me. Am I the only one who thinks that they look the same? To make it interesting they could establish a new faction with Seth Rollins as the mentor figure. Even have Fred Bizkit do the theme song, "Keep on Rollins Rollins..."

“Mr. Nerfect” was here every hour ON the hour to make sure he could immediately call out any post he deemed “pro-AEW”. He’s suddenly disappeared JUST as Noid started posting.

Seems clear now that I forced him into a corner where he didn’t want to go so far as to admit he was wrong about anything so he “killed” Mr. Nerfect and started anew using the one name no one would ever expect to actually be him.

Brilliant, in my opinion.

Nice try, but even when Guru Dave is trying his best, it just makes people miss me. Sorry, Dave. Funny gimmick on the surface, but the gimmick behind the gimmick let it down.

Let's be real for a moment, Mansoor is set for a big match at WWE's Saudi special. Having him win the tag belts with Mustafa Ali would be nice but very predictable. To elevate him to the next level, they can do a recreation of the infamous Maven dropkicking Undertaker out of the rumble spot or have him pin Taker with a school boy or crucifix in under a minute.

R-truth is the most underutilized talent on the roster. More so than Cesaro even. Guy is incredibly athletic, can still go, has a unique in ring style that is different from anybody else, and has over two decades of experience which he can use to help make any young star he works with into a better performer.

And they have him dressing up as a bush every week.

I am sure he prefers it that way.

If he were a serious act, he would get his push and his title and then Vince would immediately lose interest and he would be stuck in purgatory with with no story or direction. He would then get released because he wasn’t over.

With his comedy, he is into his 14th consecutive year with the company, despite being 50 years old and having never been a big player.

It pays more to be able to make Vince laugh.

Kinda surreal to think about the spot the guy has carved out for himself. Weird to think his heel turn and stuff with Cena was 11 years ago.

Yeah, this was the catalyst for all that. I wonder if John Cena will make himself available to be one of the co-inductors (with Little Jimmy, of course) of R-Truth into the WWE Hall of Fame?

Road Dogg was a tag team partner once, but he was not R-Truth’s childhood hero.
