Really hope this is good because one of my fav series.... the development hell it had plus the fact that they are only putting it on Hulu does not bode well, but we shall see....

Looks good
Can't for the Ben Shapiro/Tucker Carlson types to freak out and claim this show is an attack on men.
Also it looks really good. FX has a good track record with series so I am assuming it will end up very good.

Oh what it's not going to FX? That sounds bad. I was very excited for this for a long time.

Seems way too serious and "dark" compared to the graphic novel. Hope it's just the trailer. Either way, looks like a bummer.

It will be on 'fx on hulu', which really just means FX produced it but it will air on Hulu

I dunno, the book wasn't exactly bright and sunny either
I’m excited for this one.

Watched the first episode, was pretty sweet. Starting the second...

Watched the third episode... business has picked up!
I like the added "political intrigue", but there are also just sooo many new characters not from the comics to learn. I mean I guess you kind of have to, to flesh it out into a series...
I like the little changes they made to Hero.... not so much what they did with Beth....

Enjoyed the new episode... better now that they are "on the road"....
One thing I don't like about the show is the inclusion of trans men.... I know they are trying to be "politically correct" and "woke" or whatever, but just feels like it takes away from Yorick....

i don't think they're trying to be "politically correct" or "woke" so much as they're just acknowledging that trans men exist

Yeah, and I'm saying they shouldn't have

At least not right off the bat.... could have done a story arc later in the series about it and it would have been cool.
It is totally a "look at us we are updated and woke" thing that it is included in a big way from the start.

Show canceled already before the first season is even over..... damn that's harsh.... but fair I guess, it has just been "ok"....

yeah i honestly wasn't champing at the bit to watch it each week tbh, and i loved the books
i think it just spent too long in development hell to make the impact it could've. it 'missed the window'
like we've had 11+ seasons of the walking dead at this point and we've also just spent two years living through a pandemic
dunno, a bit apocalypsed out
saga series when

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head.... definitely missed the window... too many apocalypse shows over the past decade plus our current pandemic world.....
In addition, by its nature dunno how well it would have ever translated to the screen. Maybe a limited miniseries where they didn't need to "slow it down" and add "filler" to flesh it out into a who know how many seasons show.
Saga would probably be even more unfilmable.

Saga would require an hbo level budget. Also you'd have a Game of Thrones situation where once they run out of source material, it could potentially be finished up by some schmucks who would ruin the whole thing.
