Indeed we've got some interesting maneuvering at the top of the heap as Red Dead Redemption earns itself a nice fat average of 4.5 and that's enough to land it in the top 10, sharing space with Chrono Trigger and Portal. Hey, it takes all kinds. We can only wonder what other titles will be fortunate enough to occupy one of those top spots. Could it be this week's entry? Well, like I said, I was down with adding more sequels to the pool and thus here we are. Week 78's game is the sequel to Valve's surprise FPS hit, Half-Life 2! It's another romp with Gordon Freeman and his trusty crowbar, with a few extra ingredients. The important question is how did it fare with you? Is it a worthy successor? Does it fall flat? Great game with an innovative physics system, but not as groundbreaking as the first.

Half-life 3 confirmed.

That alone makes 2 worth a 5. So does the gravity gun and the general atmosphere of the game. Don't know why but the first time I got to Ravenholm it terrified me more than any horror game ever.

Half-life 2 is the pinnacle of the fps genre. It's been out nearly 20 years and no one has topped it yet.

You should play it now if you have a computer. After you install it, its definitely a game you can "pick up and play".

Personally I think LJ should pick up his entire home and play it, but that's me.

Or play it on his home. My dream is own one of those projectors that connect to your devices so that I can play a game on an entire exterior side of a house. Not necessarily Half-Life 2 but it's an option.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to get a top brand model. My friend had one and we had a big game night with a bunch of people over and we used one of the walls as a separate screen to play some Halo multiplayer and Mario Kart. It worked fine for what we needed but the dream still remains....

It was a classic and an amazing game for its time. The out of box multiplayer was weak, but the addition of TFC and the other mods people made (CS/Firearms) made it a great multiplayer title.
Only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because I reserve those for my absolute top favorite games, and although Half Life was really good, it doesn't go up there with my absolute fav games.
Too bad Half Life 2 sucked in comparison, and is the most overrated game of all time.


This week was just itching for Curtis to come on in with a sentiment like this. :(
