Still playing this. Have nearly everything upgraded except for the threat sensor, because I never use it. Used it for 1 boss fight. Same thing with the barrier and dodge too. It's all about dat grappleshot.
Need to dodge? Grappleshot a short distance on the ground, ziiiiiip!
Mobile cover? Grappleshot to it, or around a ledge, or wall, or anything, really.
Threat Sensor? Upgrade that grappleshot where you can ninja kick the shit outta everyone, then upgrade it again for more boom. Time you do that a few times, there's no threats left.
Also, you can literally scale 90 degree walls with it after you've upgraded the cooldown. If you can grappleshot it, you can climb it.
I really never have a use for any other tool thus far. Find a FOB close to some Banshees, grappleshot them outta their shit GTA style, and enjoy free roam.

There's nearly nothing in the game you can't do?
Outta grenades? Grappleshot one of those canisters that lie around and throw that mofo like a super grenade!
I will need to start clipping stuff. Sometimes man, its like Assassins Creed meets Doom or some shit. Or maybe playing Doom just made me more aggressive and changed how I looked at all FPS games, I dunno.
The only vehicle worth spawning is the Scorpion Tank. They need to fix some physical clipping issues though, as I find myself getting stuck on tiny twigs, IN A FUCKING TANK.
Also, the variant disruptor you get for taking out the Grunt HVT is bonkers. It causes a lil delayed explosion after it hits a target. Always spawn that and a BR at FOB's. If you keep shooting, it'll chain explosions too. Makes quick work of Grunt Officers and the like.

I love being able to use coils as makeshift grenades. I'm still on the fence as far as the story but it's still early and the gameplay is making up for it.

The story is..... interesting. Just reached a pivotal point in the story I think. Chief said two words and I thought some shit was gonna go down....... but he didn't follow through. A rare moment of hesitation, if you will. Blink and you'll miss it.
I think the last act reveal will ultimately determine how I feel about it. Lotsa holes right now and a lotta different ways it could go I guess. Too much vagueness, but that's okay. I've taken my time unlocking a buncha stuff.
I'm on my way to the 2nd tower/spire/control thing. The 1st one controlled the ring trying to repair itself, but this one is allegedly the command spire that commands all the others which are all over the ring.
Not sure how far into the campaign you are, or how far I am through it. Fairly innocent spoiler I think? No deaths, betrayals or any massive changing arc right now, just trying to be respectful.

Scorpion is great, but Wasp is fantastic for getting around to gather all the collectibles.
You can give your equipped weapon to the npcs at an fob. Give them all the variant sentinel beam, load em into a razorback and role up into an enemy base. Easy mode.

I've been using that tactic of giving an NPC a power weapon since Halo 3. It's a Godsend on Legendary.

Never done that :|
I remember beating the 1st Halo on Legendary, solo, which at the time was said to be "impossible" because of needing a driver and a gunner. It took a very long time, but it was done.

I have to start the campaign over. Luckily, I'm not far, but I was not made aware of "oh, hey, you can't replay the beginning to get the collectible shit" part until after I had done it.
Also, the campaign grappleshot irks me. In multiplayer, I can zip around like I'm playing Bionic Commando. In the campaign, it barely acts in a capacity much farther than a normal jump. Unless it's something that has upgradable distance in the story, it was annoying the shit out of me to use on that spaceship.
As for multiplayer, I have a couple of major gripes. There was a third, but they recently somewhat rectified this (later than I would've liked, but still) with the additonal separated game types.
1) Exactly how many weekly challenges are there? I can never seem the clear the board for the weekly reward, since I'm not playing "all day every day" which I'm sure they'd love me to do. I also seem to have a devil of a time getting what I need. For example: I can spend three CTF sessions unexpectedly looking like an absolute star... but then I get a challenge where I need to capture, say, two flags, then suddenly I only got rounds and rounds of nothing but Slayer. I had one left the week before the multiplayer update for x kills with a BR, but I hardly ever could find one, or end up dead before I could use it twice. Then, after the update (and fresh new challenges), there's a whole new gametype with NOTHING BUT BATTLE RIFLES! Shit like that is frustrating, and seems like a deliberate ploy to get folks to buy challenge swaps. I'm not on board with that. Not in the least.
2) I personally hate the asymetrical CTF map. I hate everyting about it. I don't like it as a map itself on any game type, and particularly hate the single flag capture on it. I have yet to get Stronghold on it, and not sure that is part of the rotation, but I wouldn't like that much, either. The respawns there seem oddly unfair in Slayer where I will repeately show up in some enemy sightline and get spawn killed about 3-4 times in a row on that map in particular. As for CTF, it's a matter of what kind of a squad you get thrown into if you'll win or not, because the whole session for me usually just turns into "How many kills can [insert teammate name] get on the Ghost?" or "Can the defending team hijack the Ghost?" and my favorite: "I don't give a shit that I can teamkill on the Ghost!" And nobody really tries to get the flag. The conveyor ramp is an interesting gimmick for about 3 seconds, until you realize that someone can and always does watch it, and anyone using it turns themselves into a clay pigeon. Basically, what I'm saying is I wish I could block that particular map from my personal rotation.

Grappleshot in campaign will launch you further if you latch onto shit with high angles. You can completely scale vertical walls with it, before you have access to any aerial vehicles.
Played a few rounds of MP and it was...... underwhelming. Beat the campaign though.

The one with the space shuttle?
The one with the big hole in the middle of the map. If you spawn opposite of the "flag side", there is a section where vehicles are parked if the gametype allows, and then after climbing a ramp or a couple of containers, there is a short, one-way conveyor that can throw you across that chasm. Otherwise, you'll have to take the ground path that loops around to the left. I have no idea if there is a shuttle or not. I do know it's pretty much a brown and grey map like so many mid to late 2000s military shooters and has janky sightlines, and I'm instantly in a bad mood when I spawn into it.
I haven't really had any serious issues with any of the other maps, even the big team battle joints, and I generally dislike overly huge maps in anything that take 8 weeks to traverse or respawn you light years away from anything happening. I don't hate these ones so much.

Love all the maps. First Halo game that I've really been able to get hooked by both in multi and single player.

The one with the space shuttle?
Apparently, it is. "Launch Site".
And it's even worse when vehicles are in the mix, because everyone wants to climb on the ghost without noting you can team kill on a vehicle, or in the case of CTF, you just gave the enemy something big to kill you with since you can't drive a solo vehicle with the flag.
As an aside, I really wish you could jump on the back of a Mongoose like you can selectively seat in a Puma*. Everyone immediately speeds off even if someone is standing right there, and those quads are generally the most ideal flag movers since the people who drive them tend to be better than any other conveyance except maybe a Ghost or Hornet jockey.
All I play is big team battle lol
BTB Has now become a third gripe. Anytime I play it, I can get one or maybe two games in at a stretch if I'm lucky, then the game will basically refuse to connect to the server anymore for that game type unless I exit the game entirely and reload Infinite. And even that is more "you can leave on your own, or we can help you", since if I try to keep connecting (and failing) anyway, I will get a hard boot to the main XBOX screen and need to reload the game anyhow. If I do go back and play another type, it will work, but it's likely to crash afterward. I can jump in anything else and play until my thumbs bleed if I want, but Big Team Battle causes problems.

Yeah BTB has been really troubling with connections.
You need better teammates.
