Yes, you read that right, ladies and gentlemen. This is freaking WEEK NINETY of this sucker! What am I doing with my life? Well, I'm bringing you another edition of Rate the Game, that's what. We've got 35 more games left in the tank after this so mark this one down as another milestone on our journey. Before we get to that, though, we've got last week's Assassin's Creed to worry about. It seemed like it was received kind of lukewarm-ish around these parts but what does the average have to say about all of it? How about that pulldown menu?

Well, another week, another title that unfortunately finds itself around the bottom of the pile. Assassin's Creed and Altair joins up with Frank West and Blue Valkyrie to form a little three-way at the number 80 spot with its 2.71 overall average. Well, things evidently got better for the series so there's that. It can't get too down about its position.

Speaking of positions, can we get a game that will unseat Vice City and Ocarina of Time from the top this week? Or maybe it will claim the bottom spot from Ghosts n' Goblins? Bowl, I think you know what to do!

90 damn times I've had to do that. Just imagine. Anyways, your game to rate this week on this 90th edition is the Grand Theft Auto-esque, open world smackdown affair from Realtime Worlds, Crackdown! I know it as "that game that let you play the Halo 3 beta" but how about you? Surely it might carry more significance for you or maybe it was forgettable? Let's hear all about it from you good people of TPWW. Rate and discuss and share and all that good stuff. We've got one more of these before we say goodbye to 2021 next week so let's hope it's all good from here on out. Until next week!

It had potential, it really did. Think I played 3 the most when it was free on Gamepass.

I remember wanting to like this, but the UI and the controls felt like garbage. Fooled around with it and actually made progress, but it was more of the same same and blah.

No.

I've never even heard of this.

Really? It had a lot of attention because the beta for Halo 3's multiplayer was bundled with it. I mean, granted, it's nothing special on its own but I would've figured it at least crossed people's paths.

THERES 3 OF THEM!

I think that's more surprising than anything else.

I've played this. But I remember it being very buggy.

I guess a 2 will suffice.

Never got into Halo (or owned XBox). Just looked at screenshots and none of them are familiar to me.

3

Had fun with it at the time, but other games have done the concept a lot better since.

I mean just being in the same console generation as Prototype and Infamous makes crackdown pretty god damn irrelevant

2. Worst of the "GTA clone" games at their peak. Always felt bland and generic with no imagination. They had nothing unique that couldn't be found done better elsewhere. That's not to say they weren't fun, because I did play them and had a good time but I feel that's because I went in just looking to scratch the GTA itch with a game I hadn't already played before.

I basically played this game out of spite. I had just got my own account for the Xbox 360 and was looking to outdo my friend in Gamerscore, which was still relatively low back then. He had picked this game up because of the aforementioned Halo 3 beta and was all about it. I was in a mad dash to try to get as much Gamerscore points as I could so that I'd be able to rub it in his face that I beat his score in a short period of time. This wasn't exactly the best experience and I probably should've focused on another game but I wanted to do better than him in it. :o

Well, early projections show that this game is on track to claiming the bottom of the barrel.

Oh, wait, Fignuts gave it a 3 but I didn't see it in the poll. It may pull itself out of the hole yet.

Nope. After further consideration, I gave it a 2.

Never played it. It's one of those ones on Gamepass I always think of starting but never do. Probably never will.

And the third is dog shit.

I couldn't bring myself to play any of the sequels. This one just couldn't grab me. I will credit it with one really strong bit: the twist at the end that details why you're doing what you're doing. That was very clever and a good way to cap things off, raising questions for a sequel.

However, it wasn't enough for me. It already starts behind the eight ball because of the Open World Rule and there isn't enough charm to it so that it can rise above that hurdle, like with Borderlands or Grand Theft Auto. But, hey, the multiplayer for Halo 3 was fun.

You're preaching to the choir about Borderlands, my dude. The next 3 months can't pass fast enough, as I'm really hyped for the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands spinoff which releases about a week after my birthday in 2022.
