Who's ready for another week of this sucker?!? I sure am! We ran into a few bumps in the road but thankfully we were able to get things sorted out and back on track with last week's games as we can finally add some more titles to our list. We judged Bayonetta and SoulCalibur and now it's time to see where they end up. Leaderboard, it gives me great pleasure to update you...

Well, unfortunately both games fall towards the lower end of things as SoulCalibur takes the 72nd slot with a 3.16 average and Bayonetta ends up at 84 with a 2.75. Good efforts from both parties but the elite spots stay safely guarded...for now.

Now we go to the bowl so that it may cough up a new title for this week. Can it overcome the fate of last week's games? Can it even make it onto the board? Let's see what's on tap for this week....

And just like that we're back to the FPS genre. This week we take a look at one of the biggest sequels to one of the biggest franchise-starters in gaming history. The sage of Master Chief continues in this entry; it's Halo 2 on the Xbox! The original game has been sitting at the bottom of our leaderboard for quite some time but how does its follow-up fare? Does it have enough going for it that it can shoot its way up to the top or does it deserve to join its predecessor in the bowels where it currently sits? What do you all think? Let's whip out our energy swords and take a stab at this bad boy. Until next week!

Halo 2 introduced the Arbiter. It split between the two stories of both his and Master Chief's. The Arbiter learns the truth of the Covenant while Chief and the UNSC are trying to protect Earth from the Covenant. The Gravemind of the Flood is also introduced, along with Miranda Keyes.

Ah okay. I'll give it a 3. I remember the game kinda plodding along and also didn't care for the split narrative in this one.

Technically you can make it not a shooter if you just use grenades and bash the shit out of enemies with the butt of your gun. :shifty:

This was the first Halo game I ever played. I was introduced to it when my friend dragged me to this other dude's apartment and we played the multiplayer together, Rocketball in particular. It just snowballed from there. It was something else because the last bit of multiplayer I ever did was stuff like Quake 3.

The game itself, as in the campaign, is a mixed bag. I've always credited the whole Covenant angle having that element of religion thrown in considering the majority of our real-life conflicts. The characters could be more interesting, though. The gameplay is tight, though. Dual-wielding is fucking awesome and it's something I wish they would bring back in the newer games. On top of that, the game just looks gorgeous. I think a lot of it still holds up. Things got better with Halo 3, I think, but this works well enough.

I can certainly say that I had more memorable multiplayer experiences than I did with the campaign. Halo 3 and Halo: Reach were much better as far as that goes. There was certainly enough here, though, that hooked me and made me want to know more about this world and what would end up happening next. I was hyped enough to where I allowed my friend to talk me into going with him for the Halo 3 midnight release.

I loved Reach. It was a fun little spinoff.
