So, Mania is in the books, and well received. We’re expecting this to be the first proper post-Mania Raw for a couple of years.

What are we expecting to see?

Roman appearance. Cody promo. Cody challenging Roman? Bayley return?

What call ups are we expecting? There’s so many I could see making the move up this week; LA Knight, Legado Del Fantasma, Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes. Ciampa “official” call up? Time for Io to move? I expected Gonzalez and/or Kai but with them winning the NXT Womens Tag titles…

Really hope they capitalise on Mania and keep the momentum going.

Veer is supposed to be making his debut. Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin or Robert Roode jump out as opponents for him.

I think Cody will keep his feud going with Seth. When it comes to Roman, I’m going with either Bobby Lashley or Drew as his next guy. Probably Lashley.

Really want AJ Styles & Finn Balor to team up to face this Edge/Damian Priest alliance. Throw RK-Bro into that mix.

I think Bayley and Asuka will be back, but don’t necessarily have a strong feeling about Raw or SmackDown. Bron Breakker and Io Shirai being called up this week makes sense. Gunther would not surprise me either — maybe even with Imperium.

And yeah, came back to say Priest/Edge vs. Styles/Balor, not sure how the US title would play into that unless leads to Priest regaining it. I’d probably keep RKOBro out of this though.

Also agree on Lashley and Drew being setup well to go after Roman with handing Omos his first loss and being the only man to kick out of End of Days respectively. I’d also be happy with Roman sitting out (WrestleMania) Backlash for storyline purposes.

Imperium is an odd one. They’ve not been together in NXT full time for all that long but don’t feel like a good fit for the brand anymore and they just dropped the tag belts.

There’s so many options to play with it’s actually exciting/interesting, whether they can keep all of these parts moving if they do bring a bunch in is the thing that dampens my excitement.

A lot of people are expecting this thing with Edge and Priest to be a faction. In time, sure, but let us just get a Styles & Balor team for a minute, please. Let it play out.

I’ve seen a few names bandied about. One I’ll throw out there is actually Brock Lesnar. If Edge’s whole thing is that he is going after lost souls/frustrated individuals — him getting Brock would be pretty epic. Especially if it led to tags where the entire babyface roster teams up to stop them.

Never happen. But it would just be a volume all the way up to 11 way of doing things.

I’d be surprised if Brock doesn’t take some time away, but if he does hang around I’d keep him quite close to this character he has now, it’s the most interesting he’s been in years.

I could see them adding Liv and Rhea to Edge as they’d fit the aesthetic and it’d be a little against the grain to have two females in a faction but I don’t think they need it. I think you’re right about them adding to it slowly, no need to rush it.

They said the titles were unified into the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship but both titles are listed as separate on the website with the picture being Roman holding both. I'd guess he carries both belts around for a while, finally gets beaten only for Heyman to reveal fine print in the contract that it was the WWE title only, therefore splitting the belts again and keeping his Universal title run going.

There's no actual need for two World champions. The main reason they ever did it was for periods of time where they actually kept Raw and SmackDown completely separate including their own house shows and PPVs. But those days have been over for a while. Even when they still had split brand house shows, Lesnar was never defending the title on the Raw shows. So one World title is fine, but WWE can't help but default to excess so expect them to be split again soon enough.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in the website, they had Cesaro still listed on SmackDown until a few days ago.

And yeah, one champ over both shows works for me. There’s a few storyline things you can run with that. I’ve always liked the idea of a Lesnar or Roman being like this omnipotent Shao Khan type deal, like an overload watching all the mortals fight it out amongst themselves just for a shot at them. They come down from their “mountain” to put the mortal back in their place and remind the other mortals who they are.

WWE needs to build some faces up. If they are doing Rock/Reigns at WM39, then he's going to have a reign that lasts until WM40. You can't have him drop it at some schmuck PPV at this point. It has to be a watershed/pass the torch to the next face of the company at WrestleMania type deal. Whoever goes over Roman and ends this reign should be a made man.

I still can't believe how WWE has completely bungled so many potential main event babyfaces, but alas here we are.

I hope Cody gets a massive reaction tonight. Really happy for him. For me the move back to WWE is about the same thing he left the company 6 years earlier: he wants to be a top guy. The only place he can do that is WWE. They didn’t see it on him at the time so he went elsewhere to prove himself. If he was the centre of the AEW universe and it’s champion it’d always be tinged with him booking himself into the position. If he’s successful as a top guy in WWE it’s on merit.

To see him bet on himself and be able to come back to WWE as himself, with all his iconography, music, etc. was great.

Especially in time for SURVIVOR SERIES: THE ONE TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE EACH SHOW VIYES FOR SUPREMACY or whatever that shitty tagline is where they suddenly remember they the rosters were supposed to be split and strictly adhere to that... except where a feud gets in the way and then they magically forget again after the PPV is over.

Again, I personally have no problem with two world champs in and of itself, but the fucking company can't be assed to actually follow through with it on a regular basis.

They'll split again, and then overfocus on one while minimizing the other until they put that belt on someone they decide to push to the moon but let the original focused belt suffer for it.

Just watched the Cody Rhodes segment.... dunno.... can't buy him as "the" world champion.... If they do split the titles again then sure, give him one of them, why not, it doesn't mean anything.... but if there is only one world title, I just don't see him as on that level.... IC/US Title level yeah.... AEW World Title level sure he could have been, but the single guy on top of WWE... I don't see it ever happening...

They will get another World Title, they have to. Otherwise World Champ level means Roman, and nobody is beating Roman. Roman is staying champ until Vince sells WWE, at which point Roman will retire as the champion, and they rename HOF as The Roman Reigns WWE Hall of Fame.

We got a <s>return</s> debut from <s>Elias</s> Ezekiel, Veer finally came and exploded all over the Mysterios, a tease of a Liv/Rhea break up but then an actual Carmella/Zelina break up. An NXT title change out of nowhere.

Little on the way of big debuts/returns, seemingly little in terms of setup for (WrestleMania) Backlash. That said, they might be waiting on Reigns to see how he’s feeling before setting anything up for the title.

Just, expected a little more maybe.

Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan getting a title shot after losing might not seem like it makes sense, but the story should be that, because Sonya hates Naomi, she gave them a title shot with the promise that Rhea takes out Naomi (which she does). Liv doesn’t agree with this, but it turns out Rhea did it because she is attracted to Liv. Liv says she felt the same way until this Rhea came out. Sonya stirs the pot by revealing she gave them the title shot in exchange for Naomi’s health and sexual favors from Rhea. Turns into a big dramatic mess playing on the feelings of Liv Morgan and Rhea’s actions.

I got that too. I’m also fine if it moves Seth away from his current persona. But I did have the thought that Cody might show up and challenge Reigns ASAP and Rollins might cost Cody and that leads to a program between Cody and Seth before the “real” Cody/Reigns title match.

But I’m totally down with babyface Seth. Focus on his ring work and get him away from faux-Joker.

When Seth was a face vs Roman at Rumble I thought his persona worked great and was "fresh" for a face..... by the way he did not really lose clean to Reigns and almost had him beat, so a logical next opponent for Reigns would be Rollins coming around again and staying how he has his number.... they can def kill a few months of content with that feud....

All of those scenarios work. I thought about Cody challenging Roman immediately but it does seem too soon, he needs to re-establish himself with the WWE audience, he shouldn’t be taking the belt from Reigns and he shouldn’t be failing to take the belt from him either (albeit you can sell it as part of the redemption angle).

I could see Seth very easily going back against Cody. I don’t think the audience is ready to embrace Seth as a babyface again yet.

Noid’s tag division looks insane but I’m not sure where that leaves the rest of the card.

Seth is just great at what he does. Each iteration he comes back as a douche, but has the crowds eating from his hands in less than 90 days.
