AEW's Leyla Hirsch was helped from the ring after her match during an AEW Dark - Elevation taping in Boston MA was halted following what appeared to be a knee injury.

Hirsch's right knee buckled as she was landing after a flip off the top rope during a singles match against Christina Marie, leading to her going down. The referee stopped the bout and called for the company's medical staff to look over Hirsh. The crowd chanted for Leyla after the bout was stopped. Hirsch was walked to the back, limping, by the referee and the medical staff.

Hirsch is being checked out by AEW's medical team currently. We will update as we confirm more.

AEW used Royal Rumble 2000 rules which weren't worded as clearly as AEW did tonight with "Must be an offensive move through the table". Eventually WWE faded out that rule and anyone going through a table for any reason pretty much ended the match. It's a good rule because you get more table breaks when you have a guy go through the table on "accident".

The TNT Champion defended his decision to end the open door challenge. Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti came out (and got some boos and a 'shut the f*ck up' chant). The two went back and forth with Lambert delivering a Bill Buckner ball between the legs joke.

Page said he hopes his daughter doesn't end up like Conti. Guevara said he doesn't care. The boos for Guevara and Conti kept growing. They said they will keep coming out until they get the match they want and to wait until next week. The crowd reaction to what are supposed to be the babyfaces was interesting.

FTR have been misused by this stupid company for too long. It’s cool to hear they have gotten chances now, ala Chad Gable — it’s just a shame it’s happening in a company that is so low on the totem pole.

The reason FTR, Christian, Malakai, Andrade, Lethal and other have been so misused is because of this over crowded roster. Tony get's hot for his new signings and forgets about those he already has. He's gotta get over that impulse. It does seem that he's planning to reassign some talents to ROH but I want some more clarity on that. If he actually comes up with a 50+ person roster and runs that company on it's own then AEW has a chance to remedy this over crowding issues.

Overcrowding is a problem, but thats not the main reason. The main reason is that Tony Khan is not very good at this. FTR came in well before the overcrowded, and should have dominated the tag division, because they could do that while making everyone look strong.

I noticed in an interview recently that he's put out a bit of a picture for you. He is writing the shows by hand, probably in a similar way that he did when he was a kid on notebook paper probably with some producitons notes as well because he's very hands on.

After the ROH PPV he said that he's booking ROH just like he does AEW, all him. He listens to ideas but it's hard to make everyone happy when you get pitched "a hundred times a day". He seemed a bit dismissive when it came to having help booking ROH. So I assume he's like that with AEW.

I think the creative freedom would come for guys like Mox, Punk, Danielson more than others. They can probably create their promos and matches and angles for the most part but it seems like Tony is the one legit booker in AEW.

He said that in the first year ratings were solid and he was very hands on the first few months. Towards the winter the ratings started to decline and he didn't like that so he changed "everything" and now is the decider.

Theres a lot of stuff that doesnt make sense, and the ranking system is useless as they dont utilize it effectively at all. Guys who have lost for weeks on end on dynamite suddenly get a title shot thanks to wins on Dark, which only a very small percentage of the fan base watches. What Tony doesnt understand is that it doesnt matter how many wins a guy gets on dark. If the majority of the audience doesnt actually see him looking strong, then your title match will feel like a jobber is challenging.

- Looooooong feuds. Darby and Sting have been feuding with Andrade and co for soooo long even after some really good matches that seemed like the blow off match of the feud. The Darby and Andrade match last week was really good, why carry the feud on still. The same applies for Adam Cole and friends vs Jurassic express and any feud involving Best Friends
- Too guys have a week off here and there is good and keeps them fresh, but then you go without the likes of Pac, Penta, Miro, House of Black for so long yet make room for Red Velvet vs Leila Hirsch
- There’s a huge Cody shaped gap in the roster right now. He was far and away the one guy who came across as a big star. The entire presentation of him, only matches right now by Malakai Black. Omega’s absence is also very noticeable right now.
- Adam Cole and friends need to go. They are so bad. There’s so many better tag teams than Fish and O’Riley. And Adam Cole would maybe be a decent commentator or maybe he should have had Garcia’s position in Jerichos stable or something
- They should get rid of Rampage. I enjoyed AEW a lot more when it was just Dynamite.

Good luck expecting Tony to be a good Booker without Cody reigning him in. Tony's booking about to run wild like Vince Russo in WCW. He certainly isnt going to say no to wrestlers he is fanboying for like Phil or Jericho.

To me the thing with Adam Cole is I like him, I enjoy watching him work, but he’s literally been the same character his entire time in ROH, NXT, and now AEW. He’s really not evolved at all. And when you’re on a roster where so many guys look revitalized by a new space and/or are doing some of the best work of their careers, just doing the same thing you’ve always done can only get you so far.

In some ways I’d say Adam Cole is like the MCU. I like the MCU, sometimes I come out of an MCU movie having absolutely loved it, but generally speaking I know what the formula is going to be heading in and am rarely surprised heading out, and that's how I feel about Adam Cole's stuff.

That’s a good assessment. For me the only way Cole would have made a spalsh on main roster WWE would have been if they’d brought up Undisputed Era wholesale so they had the numbers advantage. I could have bought Cole as a champ who used the other guys to stay on top. But that would have been a limited run. As soon as you break him away from a group he lacks credibility. For some reason the Undisputed Elite thing seems like more of a retread on AEW than it would have on Raw/SmackDown. Not sure what you do with him.

I saw they had another actual squash a few weeks ago too. Seems like they’re slowly being sprinkled in. Tony’s learning on the job basically so stuff like that is a good sign.

And the Punk-MJF thing was definitely a lot of Punk and MJF working on it together. Which is great. The more wrestling leans toward a wrestlers business and away from a promoter’s business, the better.

They talked about it, covered off both members must go through the table and as it was a no DQ the eliminated partner could not cause a DQ.

Adam Cole needed NXT. He’s trash in AEW. Wouldn’t surprise me if WWE low-balled him because they knew how much he struggled to look in-shape. They’re better off without him and AEW is worse off with him.

He’s probably a great guy. But he’s flaked mentally now he’s “free.” Doesn’t seem to appreciate why he was kept on the straight and narrow in NXT in the first place. He’s now a worse version of himself getting a lot of airplay on the other show. If you liked NXT, you would have liked it better there. If you didn’t, why do you want to see him looking more weathered on your show in the first place?

I remember everyone going nuts for a match he had vs Johnny Gargano and I was just like "ugh" and it was the beginning of the end of me watching NXT.....

I had to squint to see it. Didn’t care about him in ROH/New Japan at all. And I had cooled way off on NXT by the time he was there. Post-Owens NXT really felt like something else to me. But I heard Cornette say lots of great things about him, so I tried to give him a chance:

I thought he looked too much like a “normal guy” then. But I tried to see this charm in him being kind of unassuming. I could buy into the bit of swagger that was there. I think he worked too much around indy-style high spots. But everything I could try to like about the guy has been downplayed and everything that put me off has been enhanced.

They shouldn’t put the belt on him under any circumstances though. TNT belt would be fine, but nothing higher than that.

Outside of Cody and Brody, this is mostly what the TNT title has been for. Darby, Sky, Sammy and Miro are all guys clearly think have a future with them.

It’s gettingbetter booking with Sky getting rid of the open challenge. Sammy having an open challenge didn’t have the same importance as Cody. Sky making people earn it and using segments to build matches is a breath of fresh air. He’s also a better talker than Sammy. Ideally this current run is a return to the TNT title being worth something.
