For starters, it's not as simple as it sounds.

With the rise of internet streaming services and higher cable prices, I've been kicking around for a little while now either looking for a new cable provider, "cutting the cord", or perhaps putting a dish on the roof/in yard.

So, I ask TPWW for their insight. How do you PRIMARILY watch TV? I ain't talking about on your phone or tablet or laptop when you're in your car or at work. I mean in front of your big screen in the living room at home.

You got a cable company? Who? How much you pay? What do you pay for?

Streamer? 1 service? 2? Most of them? All of them?

Satellite TV? 1 dish on your property? More? Pay a good price? Reception issues?

Free? You got the digital rabbit ears antenna set up and you get whatever channels you can pick up?

I’ve never had cable/satellite TV so not something I’ve ever missed. Since we moved to a new build house we don’t even have an aerial anymore so have no linear TV other than when you can watch “live” through an app. We pay for Disney+ (£7.99), NOWTV (£10), split Netflix (£3), and the wife gets Amazon Prime with her phone deal, so we’re not short on stiff to watch. Could easily drop NOW TV tbf.

Spectrum

I get streaming tv. Get 5 local channels and 15 cable channels of my choosing. But since its all streaming through the spectrum app theres no cavle box and thus much cheaper. I pay about $45 a month.

I probably pay too much money for too many streaming services, but to watch live TV stuff we have YouTube TV ($65/month I think). The unlimited DVR is a big plus, especially with a newborn.

I don't really watch TV but I will watch Survivor and the NFL through the antenna when it comes through. Aside from that we'll primarily watch Youtube/Netflix/Discovery+

I have cable tv and pretty much only watch it live for sporting events. I do record a few shows to later watch via DVR. I could definitely get by without it, but get a significant discount via work.

I have a Netflix that I feel like I go through periods of barely using it.... I share my account with my parents though and they use it, so whatever....

Use Disney+ pretty often

I have an Amazon Prime account that I should probably disable but don't. Pretty much only for Mrs Maisel, The Boys, and Invincible....

Netflix officially adding ads to their service. I canceled the account, fuck em.

1) Let's charge for HD (which all other providers have standard)

2) Let's keep increasing pricing despite losing content

3) Let's put in ads on the low tiers, that'll make people happy!

Can't wait to pirate the documentary about how Netflix was their own downfall.

The Golden Age of the internet is dead. Long live the internet.

Only a matter of time before cable companies work out deals and begin to offer bundles of streaming services

should be noted the ad based tier will be a lower cost than any currently offered tier

i.e. no one will have to see ads that doesnt specifically ask to see them
