Well, actually, let's save that celebration for how last week's Final Fantasy 3 fared. Final Fantasy 3 struggles to really break out and get any higher than the number 8 spot, where it has to share space with four other quality titles. When I get around to doing the tie-breakers, it might have a shot at cracking the top ten. In fact, that should be my focus for this week, since we're edging closer and closer to the end of this ride.

Speaking of which, we are getting closer and closer to the end of this ride with every new draw. Only 11 games left and it's time for another one. We need you now, bowl!

Yummy, yummy, yummy, my greedy little fingers have made the selection. We just can't quit the Super Nintendo just yet as this week we take a look at another of adventure from Nintendo's most famous mascot. It's Mario's first dive into the 16-bit pool with Super Mario World! The game that launched a thousand Super Nintendo consoles, how does it fare with you? Did Nintendo hit another home run here? Yup. Easily my favorite entry in the Mario world. I can almost play this game blindfolded I've played it so much.

So on the subject of breaking ties, I mentioned how I was going to eventually tackle those a while back. The idea is to compare any games that are locked in ties and look at the number of "Haven't played it" votes. The higher the number, the lower the game ranks amongst its group.

Example: Shadow of the Colossus and The Last of Us share the same overall score. However, The Last of Us has 6 "Haven't played it" votes compared to 3 for Shadow of the Colossus, thus Shadow of the Colossus gets a higher spot.

In the event that there's still some kind of a tie, I'll poll you guys asking to pick the best game from the group and go by that. Any ties after that and I'll be the deciding vote. Hopefully, this method will help form the ultimate leaderboard that will truly reflect the ranking of these games among the TPWW Universe.

It's great. Many hours as a youth playing, even though I sucked. Fond memories. Solid 4 from me. Feel like I need to rank it below what I just voted for FF6 or else I'd give it a 5.

I remember getting the cape for the first time. That was really cool.


Then I remember the Bowser fight and that was the most fun I'd had in a Mario game (except for the Bowser fight at the end of Mario 3).


And then Star World. My young mind said "whaaaaaaaaaaat?!" This was, for me, the coolest "secret" since the negative world in SMB.

DUDE - I distinctly remember being stuck on "Tubular" I think it was? It was the level where you had to use a P Balloon the entire level and float through it.


Easy as shit now, but DAMN that level sucked.

Watching that brought back a lot of memories. I don't return to this game as much as Super Mario Bros. 3 but this was THE game that made me want a Super Nintendo.
