Aimed mainly at the non WWE watchers, is there an event or person you would tune in for?

I have been listening to Foleys pod and ended up YouTubing some Rock N Sock connection which reinforced for me I would tune in for a Rock storyline.

I did try Smackdown tonight but just didn’t care and couldn’t get into it. So seems like from a WWE pov my next period where I would watch could be the fabled Reigns and Rock program for Mania.

There’s definitely something missing from wrestling that is a bunch of normal-looking dudes doing acrobatics. It’s got a much narrower scope. You’re watching for that particular thing which only ticks certain boxes.

WWE has gotten some views out of me from just being more sensible than AEW lately. How terrible it is coupled with how much denial there is around that has eased up my cynicism about WWE. Triple H taking over creative has wiped away a few potential issues there too. But there’s been so much damage over the years. I’m still wrestling obsessed but with nowhere to channel it but the past.

Honestly, if WWE just keeps it simple and cohesive, they will probably start reaping the rewards from me by default. I’m half-way looking forward to Clash at the Castle.

Less predictable shit. I know there are "so many stories" in wrasslin, but that doesn't mean the story is played out the same way 100% of the time. Truthfully don't even care about that shit anyway, as it has all become the same tired shit. It's about time for Roman to evolve his character to the next level, whatever that is.


New faces too I think. WALTER is a good start. I'll watch Clash at the Castle because family comes to watch..... and hopefully I'm surprised.

Honestly, they are fixing their main event issue. Bigger than life people are competing for the title now. Reigns, Brock, Bobby Lashley, Drew, Big E..they got rid of the normal guys main eventing it seems and I love it.

Get rid of the fucking split rosters/brand extension. The WWE has never been the same since they created and started that bullshit.

And

They need to establish a pecking order again. Back in the day you knew where everyone fit on the roster. You had your World title guys all feuding/building momentum and sometimes inserting a IC level guy to mix it up/test run. And it was the same way down the card: IC level guys, European level guys, Tag Team guys. You just knew where they fit in the grand scheme and there was usually a progressive process to building guys up through the rungs on the ladder.

Now, its hard to know what level anyone is at now because of the shitty inconsistent booking.

I haven’t been watching every week, but that seems to be one of the things they were doing. Wrestlers made it very clear which belt they were going after. Ricochet wanting the IC Title back comes to mind. They went out of their way to draw the lines in the singles divisions.

Like "oh maybe we dont do that anymore." And then just didnt. Helluva drug though. Adderall was always my thing but any amphetamine would do. When you need to work for 72 hours straight its pretty handy.

Id honestly find it egotistical to lump myself with them. Those who are really putting in the work...well they deserve a lot more credit than they get or have gotten here in this thread even.

Its a situation of their own making, im not trying to paint them as saints or absolve them in any way, but its just so incredibly difficult to course correct after youve truly become addicted. Its a total loss of free will.
