Was just thinking about this show and it all kind of fit and made perfect sense to me:
MAIN EVENT: Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination Match
Drew McIntyre, Matt Riddle, Kofi Kingston & Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, The Usos & Sami Zayn
Drew wins the WWE Title at Clash at the Castle, albeit not without controversy. Karrion Kross knocks out a referee allowing Riddle to get involved and help out, given that he can’t challenge until there’s a new champion. Roman’s Bloodline is going against Drew, Riddle and what was scheduled to be The New Day. An attack by Sami Zayn takes him out, however, so a replacement is called in — none other than Brock Lesnar.
I’m intrigued to see Brock in a team setting. Kofi in a main event spot in Boston is a nice touch for him. You could do some sort of title match, but it would be a shame to not have the top heel faction in a classic elimination match at the show, in my opinion.
WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai vs. Sasha Banks & Naomi
Your heel tag champs defend against Sasha Banks and her partner in Boston. It kind of writes itself. You don’t need to get too complicated with this, just do a conventional tag match and shift the belts back to the babyfaces.
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Gunther (c) vs. John Cena
Michael Cole has been saying on commentary that Gunther wants to defend the IC Title against Cena. What better place than the TD Garden in Boston? Cena can be a bit cocky heading into the match. He can introduce his own spinner IC Title belt before he wins to overplay his confidence (and sell some toys).
SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: Deadly Game Tournament Final
Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair
Shayna wins the belt off Liv Morgan, exploiting the arm. Liv inserts herself in the issues between Shayna and Ronda. She insists on refereeing a match between the two. She has too much respect for the Women’s Title to fuck it up. She ends up snapping and counting a fall for herself over Ronda (her “third win”). The title is vacated and a tournament is held to crown the new champion.
Liv Morgan beats Raquel Rodriguez using her cast to advance. Paul Heyman says something to Raquel about her being knocked out in the first round and what that does to the stardom of a woman who is supposed to be a main eventer to give her a transformation. Charlotte beats Liv in the semi-final after knocking out Natalya in the first round.
Ronda beats Sonya Deville to then meet Shayna who beats Aliyah. Ronda beats Shayna in a TV main event to head into the WrestleMania rematch against Charlotte.
RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: Triple Threat Ladder Match
Bayley (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Asuka
Bayley wins the belt at Extreme Rules. All the faces want to get a shot at the belt themselves. Bianca and Asuka start having issues, which works for Bayley, until a face WWE official tells her that the Triple Threat at Survivor Series is going to be a Ladder Match.
SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION MATCH
Pat McAfee, Shinsuke Nakamura, Ricochet & Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin & The Brawling Brutes
I think it would be nice to have McAfee and Nakamura team up at the Survivor Series. Ricochet and Moss are easy enough to add to McAfee’s team to go against Corbin, Sheamus, Dunne & Holland.
OPEN CHALLENGE
Omos vs. Bron Breakker
I think this would be a nice way to call up Breakker in the tradition of guys making debuts at the Survivor Series. He can muscle his way through Omos tackling him down with shoulders and then hitting a Powerslam for the win in a short match.
This would be 7 matches and about 100-105 mins of ring time. Obviously there are some big names off, but you can’t use everybody.
OTHER STORIES
On SmackDown you’ve got Raquel Rodriguez snapping and Liv Morgan with her injured arm. For Survivor Series, I’d make the Street Profits the guest hosts of the show which leads to a segment where Dawkins turns on Ford just before the main event.
On Raw, The Miz has hired Dexter Lumis to be his personal assistant. Under nothing resembling duress, of course. Austin Theory, who is still “friends” with Lumis joins up with them and begins to study under the two-time MITB success story. Lumis hints to The Miz that he’s got tape that Austin Theory doesn’t want to see in regards to MITB. Lumis lets Theory know that he’s got tape he doesn’t want Miz to see in regards to Maryse. Basically, there’s a heel side of Miz, Theory, Lumis & Ciampa that is very close to exploding. They have issues with Edge, Rey Mysterio, Dominik & Johnny Gargano. I’d put this on the card, but there really isn’t room. Maybe if the show went an extra hour or something. I like the idea of Edge and Theory interacting too.
I’ve also got Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins & Judgment Day against Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler & Mustafa Ali. It’s a bit hodgepodge, but it’s the top heels on the Raw side against some faces. I originally had Owens & Rollins against The New Day in a one-match Bragging Rights contest between the shows and something with Shane McMahon with Drew McIntyre and him peeling away to work with Sami who would Kurt Angle KOTR 2001 it, but oh well.
You want to save some stuff for TV. Rollins can work matches with AJ and Ali on Raw around this time — no need for it to really be on PPV.
