He got by on charisma alone, it sure wasn’t the bionic elba or the belly birthmark

My mate Craig once got gifted a big box of old WCW/NWA videos by his uncle and we spend hours watching War Games and lots of great shit but by far and away the best thing we saw in those video tapes was an ancient Dusty Rhodes promo where he said he was “The Judge, Jury and Hangman” because it was essentially unintelligible.

We were crying…

In his own way, Stan Hansen.

Earlier tonight me and my dad were talking about chewing tobacco and Stan Hansen came up very quickly.
I thought you’d appreciate knowing that Stan Hansen is always being discussed somewhere.

Seanny One Ball

Long story short my dad did not like the Vader/Hansen eye gouge that I showed him.
He looked pretty sick actually.

Seanny One Ball

Stan Hansen isn’t just a great wrestler. He’s an entire topic of discussion. Manliness and chaw cannot be talked about without his name being mentioned regularly.

Hansen deserves to be a folk legend

So charismatic he got polka dots over.

Charisma =/= showmanship

Or mic skills.

In my mind he will always be best presented as a mythological entity.
Retrospect is the key to legendary status and Stan Hansen has so many corroborated stories that he could legitimately be seen as a hero in centuries ahead.

I was telling my dad a few stories tonight that he enjoyed. He liked the broken neck story better than the eye gouge anyway.

James Blade is a lil too old to be a future WWE talent he has been wrestling since 2001! Delivering wrestling action before YouTube, streaming to houses live on RealPlayer!
It is a shame, the guy has so much charisma, could've easily been the top guy in WWE.

I want to visit the universe where Bob Sapp was more of a thing in professional wrestling. He could have been the one to end Goldberg’s streak.

For NXT, Sami Zayn springs to mind. And I think you’re seeing that play out on the main roster TV right now.

Gotcha! I misread. One thing that's been reinforced for me doing this poll across forums and social media is that quite a few ppl associate charisma with mic skills.

Destor
11-15-2022, 08:33 PM
A lot of it is the rock. He's outrageously charismatic. He's also an exceptional showman and elite on the mic. So they see the rock, who everyone universally praises as among the most charismatic humans to ever live, and then conflate his superfluous skills with charisma.

Wish I could go back to 2002 and assign Billy Kidman’s Survivor Series - whenever theme to Richards.

QCyQxeDHcO8

Steven Richards was doing a crazy guy gimmick and being an item on RAW around the same time this theme was first used for Kidman, who was not. I mean, the Richards theme with him yelling “I’LL SHOW YOU! YOU’LL SEE!” was OK, but that’s all it was -- just average, run of the mill kind of theme for a crazy guy gimmick.
