I've probably told the swimming story before, but in case I haven't, here goes. Was playing "manhunt" (read: hide and seek in the dark for teenagers who for some reason find the term hide and seek embarrassing) and I was walking around the frozen pond when I had the brightest idea for the best hiding spot. I cracked the ice, which was super thin as it hadn't had time to freeze much and waded out til I was about neck deep in the pond and just stood there with nothing but my head above the water line until everyone was preoccupied enough that I could walk back out and go to base without any worries lol. Best hiding spot ever even if everyone thought I was a psycho because of it. Was prob in there like 10-15 minutes at the most though.

Being cold tolerant also comes with the negative effect of being super sensitive to heat though. It's like 60 here today and I'm sweating. 80's and up feel like I'm on the surface of the sun. Hate the spring/summer. Applies to food and drink too. Hot drinks especially kill me. My wife will be picking up things and eating/drinking them that I will snatch my hand away from as soon as I touch it because it burnses us.

anyway, it was end of november so it was probably like 35? not quite cold enough to freeze the lake we were near, but cold enough that it was miserable. i was dared to rope swing from a tree into the water at like midnight, which was dumb for a lot of reasons. should have stripped nude beforehand but i was drunk as hell and didn't care. big mistake. i was cold for like 3 days after.

but like today was 24 when i was waiting for the bus and it was hoodie only weather for me. the day before was 18 and i layered a jacket on there. once i get acclimated to winter, that's probably just hoodie weather, too. otherwise i end up sweating my nuts off on the bus and train due to the heat running/being jammed in with a bunch of fucks.
