From the trailer, and without reading, looks like they borrowed some elements of the original to tell a new story, that takes place before the 1st movie.

Couldn't find anything concrete which is par for the course with evil dead, but it sounds like this in the same universe as the original trilogy and tv show.

Using the three necronomicons in army of darkness to explain everything is pretty clever. I hope they expand on that in the future and bring everything together.

Saw it last Friday. It was sexy good time
