The latest on Sting is that Vince McMahon may actually allow Sting to work a reduced schedule if brought in to World Wrestling Entertianment.

It appears now that Sting is on the verge of working for WWE for the first time in his career, as he has said in the past that he has no interest whatsoever in coming to WWF/E, but things change like the wind in the wrestling business from day to day. During a recent interview, Sting mentioned that he has talked to Vince several times over the past few years and now wants to be able to work for him.

One of the things that kept him from coming in was the number of dates he was asked to work, but now that Vince will allow him a reduced schedule, things may change from this point forward.

I think this would be a great addition if Vince could convince him to finally join the WWE. Sting was quite adamant that he would never join because of the direction that pro wrestling was going, so this comes as a surprise to me. I never saw much of the Stinger in the past since I never really watched Dubbya See Dubbya, but he always looked cool when he had the crow facepaint in the rafters with a baseball bat.

Vince, you are the man if this happens.

I never saw Sting in WCW, but if Sting came to WWE, he would be the next Stone Cold/Rock.

Since Stone Cold, Rock, and Goldberg are gone, WWE is in need of major big name superstar faces and Sting would be a perfect replacement for that. :y:

As much as I respect sting, he's past his prime. He's fat, outta shape and he can't carry a good match anymore... This might change though since he does have the ability to put on some great matches when he is in good shape. I wouldn't mind seeing him in more of a mentor role. Maybe having one or two last matches.

I agree, Sting will make a huge impact if he made his debut to WWE.

It will be considered a "debut" since he obviously never worked with Vince before.

Doubtful. Stone Cold and the Rock were so wildly popular because they were fresh faces, something that we'd never seen before. We're all very familiar with Sting. Sure, a lot of people would mark out for him, but he wouldn't exactly catch the world on fire, especially now that he's gotten older and past his prime. Nostalgia runs very rarely work in the long run; just ask Hulk Hogan.

That's not saying that the Stinger should just be put to pasture, but putting faith in him being the next big thing in WWE would be a very bad idea.

I imagine his crow out fit....I dont see anyway of them changing it to get the same reaction

I thought nWo would be good. They sucked

I thought Goldberg would be good. He sucked

See a pattern here?

The Naitch

not that they suck, it's just how WWE handles "non-homegrown" talent these days. I dont expect much. They'll drop the ball most likely

Yep, they'll just fuck him up anyway. Nothing to get excited about. Well, maybe for the first 2 weeks. After that, back to the graveyard.

LOL, so true Shadow.

Well at least they are bringing in Kenzo Suzuki and they brought in Mordecai, and kept a big piece of crap like Tyson Tomko on Raw so he can go to Heat soon enough.

Smackdown is getting some talent over there, and they benefitted from the Draft Lottery. Raw hasn't even used A-Train, Chuck, and barely used Nidia. Booker T and RVD should both be getting into the WWE title scene soon, but they probably won't. Sting is a Raw type guy to me, but since they have more of the stars anyways, it wouldn't help after a few months. I agree with some people saying that HBK should go to Smackdown, he would garner more interest since hes getting stale with HHH, and he can get into some new feuds.

Uh, I saw him on NWA a few weeks ago and he wasnt fat at all. Granted he may be past his prime, I think he could bring in ratings

What are you all talking about? Smackdown is getting buried because of bullshit angles, shitty booking, and not enough veteran established superstars to draw big numbers. If Sting were to go to Smackdown he would increase the ratings dramatically considering that there are so many Sting marks out there who would love to see his return to the ring.

Sting would be a great opponent to give Mordecai a bit of a rub, though I don't imagine Sting jobbing to him presently. Plus a face vs. face ange against Eddie Guerrero would give him more credibility.

Sting woldn't have much of a place on RAW besides feuding with Evolution, and that'd be pointless unless he were to put Randy Orton over, a genius idea, but I'm too much of a Sting mark to see Orton put down the Stinger.

But that would be logical to have him on SD!. And as we all know, WWE has nothing to do with logic if they can help it.

Oh I can just see it now...Stephanie convinces Vince that it would be a great idea to bring Sting in to feud with Rico and have Sting claim to have made facepaint famous.

Yeah, with the WWE, Sting would come in as The Crow, lose a 'Remove Your Make-up' Challenge match to Triple H, and then shave his head and start riding around on an ATV as Stone Cold Steve Borden. And then job to Triple H again.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Kevin Nash – "Good guy, good humor".
Scott Hall – "Drugs and that is unfortunate".
Lex Luger – "Egotistic."
Sting – "Don’t know the guy. Doubt he will come to WWE because of the investment factor."
Paul Heyman – "Clever, not really clever but clever."

Vince McMahon said this about Sting in an interview a few days ago! What do you think of that? Thanks!

As Surprising as this sounds, I'd have Sting go to Raw......and place him with fellow legends/established stars. Sting would be perfect for a guy like Randy Orton as well.

HOWEVER - to compensate for the fact that Raw gets Sting, I'd send a few more guys over to Smackdown (i.e. Edge, Christian,....etc.?).

Couple possibilities. One being that Vince is tired of internet leaks when a new guy is signed or he has something special planned it always finds its way around. So vince saying Sting is a investment factor is a way to cover it up. Why was Sting even mentioned? All but Sting worked at the WWF/WWE so why bring him up if the interveiwer as well heared the rumours.
A second thing is this topic could be just a hoax. A wrestling web site wanting to get a rise out of people (which I find highly unlikly) I guess the only sure way to tell is wait and see.

Remember this is so far just Sting wanting to wrestle.

You can see the video of that interview Here (http://www.tsn.ca/wrestling/news_story.asp?ID=86160&hubName=wrestling)! Vince McMahon shot two back-to-back episodes of Off The Record with TSN's Michael Landsberg!

Think of Sting on Smackdown. Nothing could top that. He's put so many guys over in WCW, made some awesome matches with Flair. Believe me, he isn't past his prime. And he was on OVW like a month ago, and he wasn't fat..

When I grew up watching wrestling I barley watched the WWF, I was a WCW fan all the way and my favorite wrestler was the Stinger. I remember the old Stinger with the short bleached blonde hair and i was a huge fan when people thought the only true babyfaces in the buisness were Hogan and Warrior. When Sting became the Crow I hated it and lost most of my intrest in him, I thought the whole crow Sting kinda sucked. After awhile I learned to like Sting again, with Crow face paint and all, but it was never the same.

This all being said, I'd like to see Sting wrestle in a ring again but I don't want him to ruin his legacy, which even if he is used properly, he will. Sting isn't fat as someone said but he definitly is a step slow, and seeing him as a shadow of himself would just be kinda sad, kinda like a part of my childhood is gone. Personally, I'd mark out seeing him again, and I'd go balistic if he came out bleached blonde.

If they do bring him in he should go to Smackdown! as a Sting v. Undertaker feud has been a dream match of mine since I was really young.
