(Oh, I suppose context for anyone who doesn’t know, Gunther is current IC champ and if he retains tonight, he passes Honky Tonk Man’s record on Friday.).

Two of my favorite guys in wrestling. As warm and fuzzy as it would be for Gunther to break that long-lasting record, there’s a part of me that has always liked the idea of a face denying a heel that opportunity. It’s fake, after all. But I’d go with Gunther. I think you can tell a longer term story here. 2/3 Falls, Steel Cage, etc. Survivor Series in Chicago seems like a good place to eventually change the belt.

I want to see CM Punk in NXT. Signs a deal with Shawn and Hunter, works with the younger guys. Crossover Raw and NXT and have the USA branded shows be their own thing. CM Punk vs. Dominik feud for the NXT and NA Titles, please.

That being said, if Punk came out after the IC Title match and laid down a claim for the IC Title, I might just piss myself.

Burning a bridge with Tony Khan and/or The Elite is not really consequential to your future anywhere except AEW.

Dutch has fired him in the past but im sure he'd take him in TNA but he's not going to want to go there. They cant afford him anyhow. Doubly true NWA. He cant keep up to even humor a new japan run and with their working relationship with AEW you cant even be certain the door is open.

There's a very real chance the Joe match was his last match. Everywhere you turn there's either closed doors or doors not worth going through. Unless he wanted to do some chicago highschool gyms or something for fun.

It’ll be interesting to see who gets what from WWE when the dust from the new television deals settle. It could leave a vacuum somewhere. It’s likely most networks want WWE or nothing, but in a year or so there could be an open market for a wrestling product with a fair bit of visibility.

Impact Wrestling probably has the best shot at delivering that. Or something new. Punk would be a huge get for that. But the optics of going from arenas to small venues probably doesn’t do good.

Good match.... wasn't expected Gable to win at all, but he got me going and really rooting for him.... thought "maybe this is the moment to have Gable win... and then Gable holds the title until HE is the one to beat the record"

Between the umpteen commercial breaks and the spastic camera zooms/cuts (even though they've even TONED DOWN on that, there are still way too fucking many) the shows are hard to watch when anything is happening outside of somebody or two parties standing in the ring and promoing while standing still. And all of that detriment is before you even get to if the show was actually any good or not.

Man you arent wrong about the production truck. I cant watch it. There's no permanence. One of the marquees of bad action direction in film is frequent cuts.

Here's prowrestling to come along with all stunts done in one take live in camera only to cut 100 times more than a film desperately trying to hide incompetent leads. Its abysmal and detracts from the action at every step. Id rather watch bad wrestling than poorly edited wrestling. Hell id rather see the camera sat on a tripod than what they offer.

Say what you will about the product but NWA Power has the best shot wrestling product out there.

Disservice packing so many ads (even if they were PIP) into that main event. Great match with stakes for both guys. That’s how you build a match with meaning. I wish they’d not done the count out victory the other week, that was a bit needless. You can still tell the story of Gable being the man to end GUNTHER’s now record breaking run with the belt.
