Hey, special shout out to all of the technical bullshit preventing me from putting this up on both forums on the usual day. I just love delays, don't you? Anyway, we're here now so that's something. Let's get down to it. Last week we had some Donkey Kong Country goodness in the form of Aquatic Ambience, and while the praise was high, the standings are going to tell a more detailed story.
One-Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - 8.71
Aquatic Ambience (Donkey Kong Country) - 8.66
Guile Stage Theme (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo) - 8.25
Bloody Tears (Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest) - 7.85
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog) - 7.72
Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved) - 7.125
And that story is that despite the incredibly strong score of 8.66, Aquatic Ambience still doesn't have what it takes to top the charts above Final Fantasy 7's contribution. Time for another contender, I suppose.
We won't be straying from the 16-bit path this week. We're not even stepping away from the 2D side-scrolling genre. We are, however, delving into a franchise with a lot of memorable tunes under its belt. This time let's journey into the far future with the next stage of the Blue Bomber, Mega Man X. The track in question? Spark Mandrill's Stage Theme!
